I’ve never posted on Reddit before. but I thought if I was going to, I wanted it to be positive and helpful for others! so here I am :))

back story:

throughout childhood up to 19 years old I was 20st in weight (127kg/ 280lbs). in 2017 I lost 9st (57kg/ 126lbs) in a year, making me 11st at my lightest. I did this through healthy eating, drinking 2ltrs of water a day and going to the gym morning and night 6x a week. cardio in the morning and weight training in the evenings. admittedly it was a bit excessive and not sustainable, but I was desperate to get rid of the weight to better my confidence and have people actually notice me for once.

over the years I slowly piled on the weight as I got comfortable with where I was and not taking accountability as I had “done it”.
when it came to the 2nd lock down in the uk in 2021, I was back to being unhappy so I began my second weight loss venture.

for 2 months I began eating 1500 calories a day on a 20:4 intermittent fast. I ate 3 meals a day between 7pm-11pm, drinking only water and black coffee during the day. I also exercised once 4x a week which involved HIIT weight lifting at home.

it was easily the best routine I’ve ever had and I’ve never experienced so much energy in my life. my mental health had never been better along with my skin and hair health.

at first it was incredibly difficult as most of you will appreciate, but after 2 weeks it became second nature. I had zero cravings for anything and it became too easy. in them 2 months I lost 2st (12.8kg/ 28.220lbs).

if you’re thinking about or are currently eating 1500 calories, all I can say is keep going. however, please make sure that when you want to bump up your calories again, take it very very slow. I know this is a success post, but I wouldn’t be honest if I said I hadn’t put a shit tonne of weight back on since my last fast in 2021. I’m actually posting on here to partly motivate myself to do it again, which I have started this week.

anything is possible if you put your mind to it and you will win. you just have to stay consistent and soon enough you will appreciate the process and love the benefits from it. take it from me.

please see pictures to visually see the difference only 2 months can make. excuse my straight face also, I felt awkward taking progress pictures and didn’t know whether to smile or not haha.

wishing everyone the best on their journey, and if they have any questions they want to ask me, I’m all ears :))
