This is my first time growing a variety of peppers from seed (Jalapeños, Fresno, Tabasco, Habanero, Scotch Bonnets & Ghost), hoping to make a few batches of pepper mash into sauce later this summer.

I was a little slow to transplant them from the seed starter cells into these 3” cells and also a little late on getting them proper nutrients early enough, which may have stunted their initial growth?

There are a couple of Tabasco seedlings that have some leaf curling, which I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with. I’m careful to not over water and keep them an appropriate distance from artificial lighting.

I’ve been starting the process of hardening them off over the past couple weeks. Today was their first full sun exposure day for the entire day and they did great!

Anyway, I’m hoping some of the veterans here could take a look at my first attempt and let me know what you think. I am happy to answer any questions you might have, as I’m sure I’m leaving out some helpful information. Thanks everyone!

From the picture, your plants look like they love you. It looks like you are doing well with them.

The curling/cupping on the Tabasco leaves could have multiple causes. They could need nutrients, change in watering, change in lighting, etc.

I probably don’t speak for most, but at this stage I favor a high nitrogen content fertilizer. After a few weeks of some solid growth, I like to switch to a 10-10-10 npk.

Either way, keep up what you are doing. They look healthy, just still young.
