I’m going out of town for a couple weeks, and won’t be able to do my regular scouring for hornworms. I’m thinking of putting mesh produce bags on them as protection as the fruits grow and ripen. I’ve read people use them to deter squirrels and birds, but the fine mesh looks small enough that it might keep out (or minimize) aphids and hornworms too. Worth buying?

Does it work?
Yes! It absolutely does work! But it’s not perfect. There will still be green shield bugs, caterpillars that get in to some. Ensure the bags stay cinched closed. Where I live, in the subtropics, particularly in Spring and Summer- if toms, peppers & fruit aren’t bagged – fruit fly, shield bugs, caterpillars and birds will ruin them.
