what’s going on guys welcome back to another video uh this is not my first attempt at this week’s video the first one was a vegan alfredo pasta that was delicious it tasted great but it was just like a little too oily I think it might have been like the vegan cheese that I used so not usable didn’t work so brussel sprouts lots of people don’t like them and I feel like genuinely it’s because they don’t cook them right like they don’t know how to cook them because I got to tell you brussel sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables and I’m not kidding so today I’m going to show you two ways how to make brussels sprouts and if you don’t like them by the end of the video after you’ve tried the recipes it might be a youth thing I’m just saying it might be a youth thing but let’s get started so what I’m going to do here is I’m just going to take these going to cut off a little bit of the bottom and I’m going to cut them in half and then what I’m going to do is I’m going to take them and I’m going to show you two different marinades you can put them in they’re pretty simple and I’m marinating them for no other reason than that I feel like it so I think it’s going to just do nothing but contribute to flavor and some people I know like to roast the Russell Sprouts whole but I just feel like it’s going to cook faster and better having them cut in half because there’s less surface area to um to cook it’s a smaller surface area it’s thinner as opposed to like the whole Sprout so it’s going to cook faster um and who doesn’t like things that cook faster faster I think you pretty much get the idea I’m going to come back when these are all um taking care of I got two bags by the way one bag for each um flavor and I haven’t told you what flavors I’m making yet of Brussel sprouts and that’s on purpose just be patient I will tell you momentarily I’ll be right back all right so these are Brussel sprouts I’m going to divide them into two bags so I can marinate them marinate marinate it’s marinate I’m pretty sure um all right here’s our dudes the next thing is we’ll take one and what we’re going to start with is this balsamic roasted brussels sprout delicious I’ve had many times very simple we’re going to do some extra version olive oil first as you can see I’m not measuring like I’ve said before measure with your heart unless you’re baking unless you’re baking measure with your heart it’s perfectly fine if you want to measure you could do about 3 tspoons maybe 1/4 cup salt and some pepper I have some balsamic vinegar here one of my favorite ingredients to cook with ever it add such nice tang and bite to recipes and now now a special ingredient is some granulated sugar now I’m going to do like a scant tablespoon kind of like that and then I’m just going to take them give him a nice little massage I think I want a little more balsamic in here yeah just a little bit more balsamic I oh we’re fine it’s getting crazy in here that’s looking more like it see now the sugar and the balsamic are going to work really nice together the flavors you’re going to get this slight sweetness but you’re still going to get the bite of the balsamic and it’s just going to be great so these are going to marinade marinade I keep saying it wrong now the next ones start with a cutting board and that is because we are making cheesy garlic brussel sprouts how could we go wrong cheese and garlic how could we go wrong so the question of how much garlic to use is how much do you have I’m only half kidding cuz I love garlic I love garlic and I’m not sorry because when we marinate these see I said it right that time we really just want the garlic to bake in to the Brussels sprout almost like the way it would when you’re cooking broccoli Rob but not exactly because you don’t marinate broccoli Rob I’m just going crazy here but you know what it’s going to be great it’s going to be great you can tell me if I want a little overboard on the garlic I don’t think I did I I I don’t think I did but you can tell me if you think I did I love garlic what do you want from me excuse you shit’s just falling everywhere I feel like I’m happy with this now got our Brussel in goes the garlic now with these it’s going to be simple just get your olive oil in there get your salt get your pepper okay give these a nice little massage and set it and forget it all right you guys we’re back these have been marinating for half an hour I feel like that’s probably enough if you want to go an hour you can but um just it depends on how much time you have just do whatever you can to let them sit there and let the flavors bake in a little bit so now I have two of these pans I have my oven on 425 I’m just going to give this a quick spray and then I’m going to get everybody on the pan nice everybody spread out if you want you can be particular and do what I’m doing and just put them face down so that they get the nice Char there up to you you don’t have to be real real particular about it if you don’t want to okay and then these are ready to go in the oven and I’m going to do the same thing for the garlic ones little spray I’m just going to make sure everybody gets on the pan got to scoop in here and get all the garlic out okay like I said you can go face down if you want you don’t have to so we’re going to let these roast and we’re going to add the cheese at the end cuz we don’t want it to burn and I’ll show you what kind I like to use in a moment you could use any kind of cheese you like V life is a good brand Dia is a good brand um there are store brands if you’re looking for something a little more cost effective this looks great so we’re going to take these and we’re going to roast them at 425 for about anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes you just want them to get tender um soft on the inside a little crispy and then I’ll show you when we add the cheese and then we’ll be ready to eat okay here’s our garlic brussel sprouts as you can see they’re Fork tendra ooh look at that color look at that color it’s dynamite so what we’re going to do now is I’m going to give these a quick toss just a quick toss I have this DEA Italian blend shreds I’ve lowered my oven temp to 350 and I’m just going to do a little sprinkle here just like this hopefully this cheese won’t let me down like it did with the Alfredo uh then I’m just going to put these in at 350 for another 5 minutes I just want to melt the cheese that’s all I want to do here and then these will be ready to eat in the meantime we could take a look at some of these balsamic brussel sprouts look Dynamite also fork tender 20 minutes was all I needed they look great those they hot o those are great I’ll tell you what I want to do though see we got that nice caramelization um that nice color on the bottom part of the brussel sprout which is nice flavor and what I want to do is just add another little teeny tiny just teeny tiny sprinkling of sugar they’re so hot but they’re so good the sugar is definitely necessary it has a nice contrast of flavor from the tartness from the balsamic vinegar and the texture change you get from the bottom part which is um roasted and crispy and the top part which is a little softer is dynamite these are so good if you don’t like this recipe and you’re not convinced I still have one more oh yeah oh that smells even better what do we think of that I really hope the background noise isn’t too annoying for you you guys cuz it’s very annoying for me um but these look dynamite and almost make up for it so me get a piece of garlic here got some nice cheese on this bite smells so good so hot yeah might need a little more salt garlic that tastes really good I almost think I like this one better not that the other one isn’t great but I mean like I said earlier how does cheese and garlic not make everything a thousand times better yeah I would try this one first that’ll warm me up to the idea of Brussels sprouts maybe because this one is very very good it’s so so fraking good try this one make this like I said the little crispy Parts here add flavor you really get that hit of garlic which is the whole point of it the cheese is that nice soft flavor um differentiation texture differentiation rather um from the crispy Brussels sprout you also get the softness oh at the center of the brussel sprout but yeah roast your veggies roasted is the
