Lowes is having a sale before the summer season!

Can anyone recommend some good pellet grills or mention which ones NOT to buy?

I'm trying to start smoking but I'm very patient and don't mind waiting for a better sale if needed.

  1. Pretty much any of them Lowes sells will do the job, especially if you’re just starting and just “home cooking” (no catering or professional rigs). But, Pit Boss is a well established home user level pellet smoker brand.

Get the one your budget allows with the cooking space you feel you need (never too much, though, in my opinion). And if you live in a cold climate, the thickest walls that’s good everywhere, but much more important if you want to smoke in the cold).

I will also give you **my** standard warning – Don’t expect a pellet grill to actually “grill” efficiently (or in my opinion, effectively). They are *smokers*. Some have features that allow them to “grill”, but for what you’ll use in time and pellets, you’re better off (again, **my** opinion) with a dedicated grill.
