6. Bake at 375℉ for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Here is the recipe for the Honey Butter!

1. Whip the honey on high for about 20 minutes in a stand mixwer
2. Once it’s whipped, it will have changed colour and texture.
3. While still whipping the honey add in the butter

hi guys welcome back so today um I am going to share my absolute favorite cornbread recipe okay so I have been working on this recipe for years I every time I’ve made it I have changed it in some way and today I think this is it this is my my good my my final copy like I I think I have nailed it I have perfected this cornbread it is a sweet corn bread and I hope you guys are going to love it today so let’s get baking I’ll show you how to make this amazing sweet cornbread all right so to get started pour 1 and A4 cup of Buttermilk into a large bowl then you’re going to pour 3/4 cups of cornmeal into it and you’re going to give that a good mix once you’ve mixed that then you’re going to add 1/4 cup of maple syrup and 1/4 cup of oil give it a really good mix and then you’re just going to let it sit for about 10 minutes and you’re going to soak the cornmeal and just let it hydrate basically it’s what you’re doing so after you’ve mixed this up just set it aside 10 minutes while you’re soaking the cornmeal let’s get all the dry ingredients ready so you’re going to add 1 cup of flour to a bowl with 1/3 cup of packed brown sugar a half a tablespoon of baking powder a half a teaspoon of baking soda and a half a teaspoon of salt mix that all together with the Whisk and set it aside for a few minutes until your cornmeal is done soaking all right let’s put it all together so first you’re going to add an egg to your cornmeal and give that a good mix um then you’re going to dump in all of the dry ingredients and mix it until it’s combined today I’m going to be Mak my cornbread in a cast iron pan so my cast iron is not very well seasoned right now so I had to put a lot of grease in My Pan and I used a combination of a vegetable shortening and some butter and just greased it really really well because I do not want this to stick in my pan so pour all your um cornmeal mixture into your pan you’re going to preheat your oven to 375° F and then you’re going to bake it for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and the edges look crispy and the top is starting to have that like golden color all right so while your cornbread is cooking um we’re going to make some honey butter I love honey butter on my cornbread it just something about it adds that extra sweetness and it’s just so delicious so I’m going to show you guys how I make it I’m using an old jar of honey that is all crystallizing and just needs to be used up and I’m going to mix it with some new honey as well and this is local honey I buy it local and it tastes so much better than the Clover stuff that you get in the store it’s just saying my opinion I love local honey way better than any other honey all right so I am probably using I don’t know about a half a cup to 3/4 cups of honey in this it’s just kind of a guess so I’m going to put it on my mixer and I’m going to Let It Whip on high probably a good 20 minutes and it’ll change in texture and in color once it’s done mixing after about 20 minutes of mixing I’m now going to add a half a cup of butter to this I’m going to start with a/4 cup see how it mixes in but I will probably end up with a half a cup of butter in this and I’m going to let it just whip and whip and whip and it’s going to just you’re going to see a change in it it’s going to get fluffier and bigger and you’ll know when it’s at the right consistency like it looks like beautiful whipped butter but it’s honey butter all right so now I’m going to use just a small um cookie dough scoop little mini ice cream scoop and I’m going to scoop out some of the butter and plop it right into the middle of the cornbread look at that butter melting it’s beautiful oh and it smells delicious all right so I’m going to go and cut a little piece for myself I’m going to cut a little piece for my husband as well add some extra honey butter onto these and yeah we’re going to go and enjoy this while it is still warm and the butter is still melting all right you guys so it’s a very simple recipe isn’t it and I really hope you guys love it I have been working on it for so long and it turned out fantastic so as I mentioned earlier in the video my um my cast iron this amazing little thing I do not have it seasoned very well so I’m really had to grease it to make sure nothing’s stuck to it going forward I will take better care of it and I am so sad so I don’t know I I’ve never mentioned it before but way back at I think in a couple videos like a year or two ago I had this like massive cast iron pan and I mean it was massive and when we moved from Washington back to Nova Scotia it got lost we can’t find it um no idea where it went but I don’t understand how you could lose this massive cast arm pan and I had that and I had just like a little mini one that was perfect for a cookie topped with ice cream for a dessert anyway so this is the only cast iron I now have and it’s it’s a great size I love it nothing wrong with it but I really miss my gigantic one anyway just had to share that with you guys um as you can see it’s already half eaten soon as it came out of the oven we Dove right in I love it turned out amazing um so you have the amazing crispy edges I love that part but then the setter is like so bouncy and moist and and like fluffy it’s not super crumbly which I love it oh my God it’s so good and I showed you guys how to make some honey butter to go with it um my honey was going a little gritty and like has started to crystallize so my butter is a little gritty but as it melts on top you don’t even notice honey butter is amazing and now it’s in a a little container to use for toast or whatever later anyway this turned out fantastic I really hope you guys will give this one a try because I have been working on it for so long and making it in the cast IR I think put the finishing touches on my recipe all right so remember to hit the like subscribe notification Bell um you know share my videos uh leave me a comment I love reading them I love interacting with you guys all right that’s it for today uh thank you guys for watching and joining me and I will see you guys for my next recipe
