I'll try posting the text in comments to get around the paywall. Thoughts?
With all the independently owned cheap eats, I'm a bit surprised they put Cava, Mixt, and Sweet Fin on the list.

Sonoratown is legit. Best place on the list.
Homestate loses the cynics every time they expand, but until they stop delivering great service and delicious food at reasonable prices, I will remain a diehard fan.

I don’t see Costco whole pizza on here.

Overlooked quality under 15 Option.
Sometimes it takes me 2 meals to finish
I just tried shin’s pizza and it was damn good.
Con Sabor gets a +1 from me, I used to live walking distance from there and the pupusas are great.
I think sweetfin is very inconsistent. Sometimes it’s good, but when it’s bad it’s really bad
I just had avi cue last night and kind of disappointed. The flavor was bleh and the sauces were sad. I didn’t get the hype in my experience.
Be U is the best. Love their porridge and limeade.
Was surprised to see INO didn’t make the list.
Tried Storm burger recently and really enjoyed it. Prices are comparable to fast food chains, and the quality and taste is so much better.
Very mid list imo. Two of my favs are Angel’s TJ Tacos burritos for $10 even paid in cash (triple the meat Chipotle gives you in a bowl) and a Combo A two item combo for $12.
Nothing in the San Gabriel valley, odd.
Go to Wong’s Wok in glendale with 15 bucks you’ll eat for a week
Farmer Boys: 3-egg breakfasts, great cobb and southwest salads, variety of sandwiches and award winning flame-broiled burgers!
VIF app awards frequent customers with free food
Without a doubt Fire Island Grill in Santa Clarita. You can get a lot of good food under $15, and it’s way healthier than the fast food crap that’s now $15.
New York Chicken & Gyro. About 12 bucks for a hefty plate. Just had one yesterday. Got full 2/3 through the plate.
It’s in Pasadena on Green St near Malbec’s
I’m happy that The Hat gets some love here. Their food is damn satisfying.
Despite including a few great local restaurants, this list sucks. Including national chains is weak and most of these restaurants are not places you can get out of for $15.
Avi Cue is damn good!
Sad there’s not even one vegan choice
I’m surprised joy in highland park isn’t on this list
Fantastic food for under $15
I wish they had more places listed!
How is Panda not on that list especially after a dodgers home victory
There used to be a Chinese spot called Grandview Palace in Pasadena. Tons of food for so little money. I miss that place. I used to get shitfaced at Monty’s day drinking and then indulge in their lunch specials because it was within stumbling distance. I was recently in Pasadena with my son and a lot of the good spots are gone, really corporate vibe. I remember Continental Burger for brunch and drinks, gone as well. I lived in Old Town in my early 20s and loved it. I still love that city but it’s different. Penny lane is gone, Ricks is gone, The White Hut is gone, Wolf Burger is gone. Sometimes change is rough.
Aren’t tacos at Guisados about $3-4 each? And they have vegan and veg options for the person below who asked.

my restaurant launched a lunch special to try and attract new clientele. We aren’t some big names restaurant but we do our best at making good Mediterranean food. Would put this down as pretty affordable these days.
