I always love any recipe with a delicious sauce. Just the idea of having a side dish of rice or mashed and spooning that succulent sauce over it makes my mouth water. Combine that with a well spiced chicken and your tastebuds come alive. This creamy cajun chicken is certainly one for the cookbooks.

Our creamy cajun chicken is made with a few simple seasonings combined with a rich cream sauce. The entire recipe can be put together in about 30 minutes which makes it a great midweek meal. The dish will have your family and friends running back for more.

As always, watch the video, give it a try, and let us know what you think.

For the Cajun Seasoning:

1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of paprika
1/4 tsp of pepper
1/4 tsp of onion powder
1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp of oregano
1/4 tsp of thyme
1/8 tsp of red pepper flakes

Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl and enjoy. I often make extra and store it in a jar.

so what you want to do first is grab yourself up about three medium chicken breasts and i’ve cut these in half just so they fry a little faster and we’ll season this up with some salt ground black pepper my all time favorite and because it is cajun a teaspoon of two of cajun seasoning i’m gonna be fairly generous with this now you can pick this seasoning up in just about any grocery store but i’ll put a link to the recipe if you want to make it from scratch in the description section of the video i just love this stuff and of course we’ll flip this over and do the same thing for the other side okay now we’re going to add some oil to a skillet over medium-high heat i’m using a cast iron skillet but you can use a pan too place the chicken in and we’re going to fry this up until it’s cooked through and we got a nice sear happening [Music] of course we’re going to give these a flip and we got a nice kind of sear happening there and these don’t take long to cook because you know they’re cut in half so they’re fairly thin okay now we’re nicely cooked up so i’m just going to pull these out and set them aside on a plate okay my friends in the same pan don’t touch that i’ll cancel wonderful flavors i’m going to add in a good knob of butter and this is oh i’d say about a tablespoon and we’ll just let this melt down a touch more oil now in with three cloves of chopped garlic and half a small chopped onion i’ll just let this saute for 30 seconds a minute until that wonderful wonderful flavor fills the air or aroma i should say now my friends the cajun trinity so but a stalk of a celery [Music] bell pepper that’s about half a small one you can use red too and about a quarter cup of sun-dried tomatoes now we’ll just get this a stir around hope this is starting to smell so good already [Music] so what we’ll do is just let this cook down over medium heat for about four or five minutes [Music] now i should really clarify myself here guys the cajun trio it’s actually the the onions the bell peppers and the celery i’m not sure if i made that clear but that’s okay now we’ve cooked down here i’m gonna add in some chicken stock and use chicken stock not beef broth and some heavy cream that’s why it’s going to be creamy season this up with a bit more pepper and a little bit more cajun okay we’ll just bring this to a boil now we’ll add the chicken back in oh this is gonna be so yummy and we’ll let this simmer away while spooning some of that sauce over the top for another 5 or 10 minutes after about 10 minutes we are done did my friends so i’m just gonna kill the heat and we’re good to go and there you have it my friends just look at this oh gonna be so good our creamy cajun chicken just mouth-watering all right guys let’s see what we have here oh that is so tender make sure i get some of that trinity on there just look at this [Music] so good perfect with mashed rice a side salad anything i’m gonna make this [Music]

Dave my friend, I would try this & so would the girls, but cajun or creole cooking is a weakness area for me, haven't cooked any of their dishes, keep your stick on the ice pal, btw, I left you a post on your last video in regards to writing short articles, I may need my wife's help with the technology, but I will do my best as long as I know what I am talking about, lol, knowledge/experience wise, lol

  12. I just made this and it's delicious! I didn't have celery and bell pepper on hand so I just used the lonely potato in my fridge. It was still so good. The potatoes actually soaked up the cajun cream sauce so it was so flavorful. One for the books, definitely. My housemate said the dish made him feel like he was eating at a restaurant

  20. I make a big batch of holy trinity up at once and freeze it. Lasts well for about 6 months, but 3 is better. It saves having to chop every time you need some.
