I want to start by saying that I actually really like Cookbook for the quality of their produce and I enjoy all of their sandwiches. I go there if I need a couple salad ingredients and the kids love the olives … I recently read a post about Cookbooks overly priced americanos and the price of this artichoke make me giggle

Those looks like some big bastards of a choke though
I love cookbook for very specific items and if I need something last minute. That price is ridiculous but that’s why I don’t do my general shopping there. Respect for those that can, maybe someday…
Unless you can genuinely afford it, it’s silly to try and shop for produce at a place like Cookbook. They make great sandwiches and have fun specialty items.
Their flowers are really beautiful and sometimes their produce is really good, but I did buy a $15 cauliflower there once and felt like a true idiot.
As a person of size, I can shoplift these artichokes by putting them under my shirt. Once a nonbinary staff member tried to confront me but they stopped when they realized I was decolonizing Figueroa St with this act of resistance. Cookbook is Tovaangar!!!
You can get 4 artichokes at Costco for $4.79
this john and vinny people sure know how to print money
$9/per is fucking crack smoke
I’d probably steal it before considering paying $10 for a single artichoke
You’d think we were some island nation having to import all fruits and vegetables instead of being the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the entire nation.
I mean… don’t buy it from them then? Milliken has a stand at SM Farmers market. I forget the price of artichokes but it’s way less. Also their garlic is fire
I’ve never set foot in the Highland Park location despite walking by it hundreds of times. I feel vindicated.
