Welcome to How To Cook That I am Ann Reardon and today we are making a super easy two ingredient chocolate mousse. And you will not believe how simple this is to make. The first thing you will need is some chocolate of course. I am using some dark, milk and white. And then to each one of those we are going to add some hot water. I’ll put the exact amounts of water that you need for each type of chocolate on the Howtocookthat.net website for you. Microwave that for 30 seconds and then stir and and you’ll see it is not quite smooth but we do need to stir it in the middle here. And then microwave it for another 20 seconds stir it again and you can see now that it is all melted and smooth. Do the same thing with your milk chocolate and your dark chocolate you can use just one type of chocolate if you don’t want to layer it. But do make sure that you using good quality chocolate that contains cocoa butter. Just check your ingredients if it says it has vegetable fat in it then it no going to taste as good. Pour each on into a seperate plastic bag, seal it up and flatten it out like this. Then you want to place each of those flat like that in the freezer for about and hour. Take it out of the freezer rip open the bag and place the cold mixture into a bowl and whip it on high speed until it is smooth. Then add in the chilled water a little at a time and whip it on high speed each time until it is the consistency of a thick cream. Pour that into a piping bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut off and then pipe that into glasses. gently tap the g;asses on the counter just to flatten out the edges and the top. And then pace that in the fridge while you do the next one. Grab your bag of milk chocolate and whip it with the beaters, add int eh cold water and whisk it in and this milk chocolate one is my favourite one. If you are only going to make one make this one. Pipe it over the top of the dark one and then chill it in the fridge again. This recipe is inspired by one from a french chemist Dr Herve This but after experimenting with it I’ve changed the method completely. In his one you hand whisk the mixture over a bowl of iced water for about ten minutes. And the result is never as fluffy or as smooth as making it this way. And this way you don’t have to stand there for ten minutes hand whisking. So it is a lot easier. Leave the dessert in the fridge for about 30 minutes and it is ready to serve. I told you it was super simple. And because it is just water and chocolate it tastes of, well pure chocolate. Share this video with someone who loves chocolate. So easy
When I’ve made chocolate Chantilly it has been REALLY fluffy – but you need to use an >80% cocoa solids chocolate tbh. love using it in cakes as a filling as after a day it sets nicely into a firm but very soft, aerated foam.
Wow nice, had the same end product. Mine was double Chocolate Mousse with only 3 Ingredients, one Tipp add Vanille sugar, which makes it taste more better. Here is the Link to mine https://youtu.be/3jJ7_XPFTJ4
its basically melted chocolate
Will it come they same way as hand blender ?
I made this for the first time and the result was aswome:)
I don't have a microwave what do I do how?
Thanks for this recipe! It worked really well for me. Even my mum liked it, and Indian parents almost never like chocolate 🙂
Did u refrigerate it after putting in the zip lock bag?
Can you use a normal wisk if you do not have an electric mixer??
Good but 2 ingredients? It shows 3 ;(
can we replace the water with whipping cream in the melting part? In the whipping part, can we also replace the water with whipped cream?
But chocolate and water??
You're amazing as always.
did not work.
does not whip and tastes quite bad
not a very nice mousse
would recommend one with cream
Its literally water and chocolate but really tho can you like add additional sugar if you want
guys,
dont try this recipe.. its too difficult to do, its more of a chemistry experiment.
your mousse wont be a mousse consistency.
better to buy heavy cream and make using normal recipe
i tried this 3 times. 2 times it didnt work.
and the time it worked, it didnt taste like a real mousse.
more like a softy
So i am going to the atore to look for cacao on the back of the chocolate i am going to buy, but incase you're reading this, what type of chocolate should i use? Im going to try regular non compound chocolate first, but if thats not the right type of chocolate, please let me know. This looks amazing
I wonder if I can use this for the inside of a chocolate truffle
I really don't like using plastic, can I just put it in containers and leave it in the fridge longer?
My ended up really liquidy and runny (delicious, but still – I had to drink it). What did I do wrong??
Can you use heavy whipping cream? Instead of water
👍👍👍
tried doing this, went hell for me
Wow! A 2 ingredient recipe that really only has 2 ingredients!
!!!!,!!!!!! Mind blowing I have to show my freinds
After you pipe it into a glass, do I have to eat right away or can I refrigerate to eat the next day?
I tried this recipe with just dark chocolate and it started off pretty well but at the end my chocolate ended up completely liquid and not fluffy at all like in the video.
Not sure where i messed up 😥
