hey guys welcome back to this crazy life last week I dine at Aldi hall and I had mentioned my jambalaya recipe and I had a lot of requests for it so today I decided to go ahead and share that with you guys I love this recipe because it doesn’t take a whole lot of ingredients it comes together really quickly and most of all all of my kids love it so let’s go ahead and get started you’ll need to beef smoked sausages one green pepper one yellow onion two cups of rice four cups vegetable stock 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning and two bay leaves start out you’re going to go ahead and cut up your beef sausages and you want to cut them up lengthwise and then chop them into bite-size pieces and you can easily have this recipe I just like to make a big batch of this because it will feed my family of five and then it will feed us some leftovers because this reheats very well after that you’ll want to chop up your onion and I like to chop it up into pretty small pieces so my kids don’t really notice it and then it’s just kind of about the same size as the rice [Music] you’ll also go ahead and chop up your green pepper and I do the same size for this as well just pretty small little pieces [Music] once everything’s all chopped up you will add your sausage into your skillet and cook it over medium high heat for about five minutes or so until it’s kind of cooked down a bit for some reason my camera actually stopped recording but you just add in your chopped up vegetables and cook those until they are softened a bit next you’ll go ahead and add in your rice and I like to stir that around and let it toast up just a minute then you can add in your Cajun seasoning and if you don’t want it as spicy you can put in like half a tablespoon if you’d like fill it up with your stock and add in your bay leaves then just cover it turn the heat down to medium low heat and cook for about 20 minutes if you decided to use brown rice then your cooking time will be a little bit longer but in this recipe I like to use the white rice it’s that simple once your rice is all cooked your jambalaya is done and I like to serve this with corn so I will show you how I make my delicious corn on the cob it’s super simple we’re going to start out by filling a large pot with some water and then bring that to a boil and once it’s hit a rapid boil you’re going to put your corn inside the pot and I like to get a lid that is smaller than the pot and completely submerge the corn inside turn off the heat at that point and let the corn sit in the hot boiling water for about ten minutes and that that’s all [Music] well I hope you enjoyed that recipe and if you end up trying it out be sure to leave me a comment down below letting me know how you liked it and if you have not already be sure to subscribe down below and I will see you in our next video bye [Music]
