See http://www.outdoorcookingmagic.com/rosemary-mustard-grilled-chicken/ for the recipe for this delicious chicken dish that you can actually cook right on the grill. In this recipe, this chicken is grilled, then put into a cast iron skillet and coated with a rosemary mustard sauce to finish cooking. It was great! Thanks to Natalie from http://www.tasteslovely.com for the recipe that I adapted to cook on the grill.
hey everybody this is scott from out to cookingmagic.com i was looking around at some of the food blogs uh recently and i decided it might be fun to cook some of those delicious looking dishes that i see on some of those vlogs so today i’m going to cook rosemary mustard chicken this is from natalie at tastes lovely.com and i’m going to do it just a little different because as you know i like to cook outdoors so what i’m going to do is i’m going to cook this chicken on the grill then we’ll add the rosemary mustard sauce put it in a cast iron skillet put it on the grill with a little bit of smoke to add just a little bit extra flavor and we’ll see how that turns out we’re going to start with a whole chicken that i have cut up i’m going to brush a little bit of olive oil on it and that will help get this chicken nice and crispy as we cook it on the grill next i’m going to take a little bit of salt and pepper and i’m going to sprinkle on the chicken this will give it a little bit extra seasoning as we get started on the grill now we’re going to take this chicken and we’re going to put on this grill that i have smoking hot and ready to go listen to that sizzle we want to get these nicely done on both sides and then cook through i like to add a little bit of smoke to this so what i do is i take a handful of wood chips that you can get most of your big box stores i put it on a square of aluminum foil and then i’ll fold it up seal the edges and then poke some little holes in the top to allow the smoke to escape as the wood smolders you’ll put that right on top of the grill over the area that has the flame underneath it looks like the chicken is coming along really well we’re going to flip them over and give the other side a chance we can get these skin nice and crispy this will taste so delicious now while we’re waiting for the chicken to get done we’re going to get the rosemary mustard sauce ready to go i’ve got a couple different kinds of mustard and some mayonnaise and then we’re going to add this minced rosemary that i have to it and then we’re going to mix it all up also got some maple syrup we’re going to add give it a little bit of a sweet flavor now i wanted this to have a real real nice rosemary flavor maybe a little bit more than taste lovely.com had so i added even more rosemary than that recipe calls for now we’re checking on the chicken i have a cast iron skillet i have put the chicken into the bottom of the cast iron skillet i’m going to cook that on the grill just making sure that all these pieces are arranged nicely now we’re going to take that rosemary mustard sauce and we’re going to put some of it on each one of these chicken pieces this smells delicious i cannot wait to try it use it all up and make sure that every piece has a good amount of the sauce on it now with this cast iron skillet above the grill and with the lid down it’s going to heat up nicely and allow these chicken pieces to finish cooking and for that sauce to get nice and thick and done on top of the chicken now we’re gonna put some broth in the bottom slowly on some butter huh well the chicken is done now it’s time to put it on the plate then we’re going to take that broth that was cooking in the bottom of the cast iron skillet with the butter that was melted in it and all the drippings and all the absolutely delicious tastes that were forming there and we’re going to pour it over the chicken and then we’ll be ready to try it we’re done cooking now all that’s left is to taste it mmm that is delicious wow great flavor that juice that we put back over the top really kicked it up a notch and added some extra flavoring to it that was that was great so this recipe rosemary mustard skillet chicken is from natalie at tastelovely.com i’ve made it rosemary mustard grilled chicken because i’ve cooked it outdoors and so natalie your chicken was delicious but things always taste better when they’re cooked outdoors this is scott from outdoorcookingmagic.com please visit me at outdoorcookingmagic.com for more outdoor cooking magic recipes tips and tricks you
