Egg meg?

The crack will expand and you risk a fire when it falls apart when lit. But if the owner has evidence of the original purchase, the warranty is so good you can get a new base. Find a good local dealer.

Cracks only do one thing….expand!

You can buy a new base for +- $500 and you would have a $2000xl for $700. I would offer him $100 and see if he bites.

Not for more than 100. At that price I’d definitely mess around with some JB Weld or whatever the kids around here are recommending to fix a crack. Bare minimum with a little effort you’d probably have an expensive egg that lasts a few years.

I fixed a crack on my large 3 years ago. I do have a new base I need to swap but haven’t gotten to it yet, but I’ve had zero issues and monitor it closely. That being said I limit my high heat usage and have an extinguisher close.

For $200. For sure. Just do low and slow smokes. Then hunt for a base.
