So we drove down to Philly and first thing on the menu, Philly cheesesteaks. It’s been a long time coming. I’m very, very excited. I’ve been wanting to try an authentic Philly cheesesteak, In Philadelphia for the longest time, But we don’t really know what we’re doing. We have got in touch with a friend of ours, Who is based in Philly, born and raised. Chef Chris Cho. He’s gonna show us what’s up. Chris. Here he is. Yo, what’s up? Hey, how are you, brother? Nice to see you again. Good to see you. What’s up? This is my man, Chiefon. Hey, Chief. Nice to meet you. Welcome to Philadelphia. Let’s go. I love it. I love the energy. This is your hometown, right? Yeah. Okay, okay. I love Korean food. Yeah. But I love Philly. And you guys grew up on cheesesteaks. Of course. Okay. Now everyone in New York that we talked to, About going to Philly, they said, "Gotta go to Pat’s or Geno’s." Yeah, which one are you going to? Pat’s or Geno’s? That was all anyone said. That was the question. And then we got down to Philly and everyone’s like, "You’re not going to Pat’s or Geno’s, are you?" Don’t go near them. So we were like, Of course not. Wouldn’t dream of it. A confusingly named Angelo’s Pizzeria. Yeah. Apparently the pizza’s good, but the cheesesteak is even better. Soon as we walked in, I mean, it’s like the flipping stock exchange in there, Rammed with people. That’s us. We’ve heard this is the best cheesesteak in Philly. And we had to do a proper Philly, you know what I mean? Angelo. Okay. This is so heavy. Ooh, looks like a baby. Oh my gosh. I tell you. It weighs more than a baby. That’s a heavy baby. That’s a heavy baby. Look at this guy. All right. Let’s get involved. You have Philly cheesesteaks before? No, it’s not. It’s literally my first time. Like Philly cheesesteaks is quite famous. Everyone knows that Philly cheesesteak. You’re here now. So just say cheesesteak. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In Philly we call it cheesesteak? Oh, it’s just a cheesesteak. I don’t believe that. Out of Philly people call it a Philly cheesesteak. Okay. You know what I’m saying? It’s a tautology. Yeah. You don’t say like Korean kimchi fried rice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s true. Yeah, that makes sense. You guys got the stamp now, you guys could call it cheesesteak. We’ve been given permission. Here you go. Now this is something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. You can’t get cheesesteak in the UK for sure. No, well, I mean, you could get steak and cheese, But we just never think to mix it together. That’s true. So this is the whiz one. So whiz in the UK means, well, to urinate. Yeah, take a whiz. Yeah, you don’t say that in America. So if someone gave you a whiz, Whiz steak, no. Whiz sandwich is bad. Yeah, you want to try it? Pixelate that. This is the classic recipe. Is that like whiz cheese? Now that’s the cheese that comes out of the can. Is that whiz kind of? I must say, it looks like, This is how fish and chips comes in the UK. Yeah. It’s exactly how it comes. Oh my gosh. Oh wow. Let’s go. That’s a lot of meat. No wonder it’s so heavy. Look at that. Oh my gosh. Just go for it. Cheers, man. Cheers, let’s go. Cheers. Let’s go. Let’s go. Wow. Oh my gosh. And they use the side called seeded bread, too. I was about to say, That bread is incredible. The texture of that bread. That genuinely tastes like coronary heart disease. You know? Like seriously. It tastes like not being able to see your grandkids. Oh my gosh. So when you’re younger, You eat them more often. As you get older, You kind of slow down. It goes once a week, Once a month, It changes for people. It’s like lollipops. Yeah. I can’t remember the last time I had a lollipop. But when I was a kid. Loving it. In New York, we had a sandwich called a chopped cheese. And there were similarities. The cheese is definitely very similar to this. The bread. This is a crispy bread on the outside. Really soft in the middle. This absorbs some of that beef fat. The beef though, in the chopped cheese, I feel like it was almost like hamburger meat. Chopped up. It’s meaty. I guess that’s why you call it a steak. Yeah. Depending on where you go, They usually use ribeye meat. So ribeye. It’s basically ribeye steak chopped up. Okay. Firstly, I feel like you guys should try the Whiz version. This is like the classic, right? Yeah. Yeah. How cheesy and beefy and just. It’s so soft in there. It’s almost like a beef smoothie. You know? Beef and cheese smoothie. Yeah. I mean that sounds disgusting. Yeah. It tastes delicious. If that was any smoothie, You could suck it up with a straw. Wow. Wow. Not the best image, but yeah. This is a paid partnership with BetterHelp. This time last year my mental health was in a bad place, And so I started therapy and I had one thing on my mind Josh, This had better help. Well a year later I can tell you that it did help me get better, And if I was a better I’d bet therapy is the best way to help you get better too. It’s hard to think of a better help to get better than BetterHelp. Is this confusing? Josh you better help me. Oh my gosh. Ollie is messing around but we’ve both had our mental health struggles, And we’re strong advocates of talking to someone, When you’re going through a hard time. Philly’s not messing around. Yeah. I know why this is famous. Uh huh. Yeah. He did a good job too. You know, like, like I said, They’re a new spot. Philly. We kind of hate on a new spot, But they deserve it. Look at this. Everybody just loves it. There’s a lot of people. Everyone in New York is like, "Oh, you’re going to Pat’s or Geno’s?" When we said Pat’s or Geno’s, You guys both were like, "No." Yeah. I still take people there all the time. Like when my aunts come, My cousins come, We still got to take them. It’s the classic. They got like a bigger sign. It says Pat’s and Geno’s. You can take a little picture in front. But here, it’s not like you’re here to eat. You know? Oh yeah. Napkin dealer. Thank you very much. So how’s this different from Pat’s and Geno’s then? Pat’s and Geno’s are sliced. Okay. Sliced. Okay. It’s a bit harder to chew through, I imagine. A little bit. It almost looks like a bulgogi slice. Just like sliced. Some people like that too. Some people like sliced. Some people like chopped. I get Pat’s and Geno’s, Don’t get me wrong. When I’m drunk at 1 a.m. That’s the time. The uber eats are coming through. That’s the time and place. They’re not open at 1 a.m. Okay. Oh wow, sell out. Okay, so we just had the more original recipe. The classic, the cheese whiz. This is… That’s Cooper sharp. Oh shoot. Cooper sharp. Cooper sharp. I swear, Chris… He knows everyone. This is your hometown. You know everyone. Family friend. Like a little community here. All right. Oh yeah. Whoa, look at that. So the cheese, the cheese is really what’s different here. Oh wow, there’s a lot of onions as well. So you can see the fried onions. The onions are more prominent in here. Yeah. You guys might like this better to be honest. I like this better. You reckon? Why? This is what they recommend. To be honest, cheese whiz is good when you’re young. ‘Cause you don’t know the quality of cheese. So we’re old. I mean, we’re old. He’s like, yeah, we are old. Cheers, mate. Cheers. You got to unhinge your jaw for that. Wow. Wow. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Wow. Okay, okay. I see what you mean about it being, It’s a more sophisticated flavour. Well it is. It is. I need a little fist bump there. What cheese is that? Cooper Sharp. Cooper Sharp. I don’t know if we have that in the UK. It’s incredible. It’s got a different tang to it. Which one do you like better? This is decadent. Yeah. It is decadent. That is. I’m going to crave that. Yeah. As soon as we get back to London, This is what I’m going to miss. It’s quite simple, isn’t it? Right? If you think it’s just like bread, High quality meat, Wow. Onions, cheese. That’s it. They do it right. Why is it so simple, But so hard to get? Yeah. Like honestly, People in Philly, Anytime there’s cheese steak outside of Philly, Oh yeah. We just hate on it. Oh really? I’m not going to lie. That’s what I, you know, Ah that ain’t real Philly cheese steak, But how hard is it to get it? But people do get it. Sometime’s you know. So Philly’s known for cheese steaks. It’s known for rowdy Eagles fans. Go birds. You know what I mean? It’s known for brotherly love, I suppose. Oh yeah. Philadelphia. What else should we do while we’re here? Do you think we’re known for our pretzels? Pretzels, water ice. Water ice. Where should we go? Water ice. We kind of call it like water ice. Like we pronounce it water ice. Sorry, what? Water ice. Water ice. Yeah. Like water ice? But isn’t ice water? I think that’s more Asian, no. Isn’t all ice water? Water ice. Water ice. Oh, it’s like sorbet. Sorbet is just way more high quality. This is simple. I mean, it’s in the name. Water ice. And we’ve heard a lot about wa-was as well. Yeah, oh yeah, wa-was are huge. Yeah. We should check out wah-wah? Yeah. Hesitation. I forget ’cause when Danny comes back to Philly. Oh yeah, he misses wa-wa. He always go to wa-wa, but for me it’s like, Going to Korea and be like, Hey, wanna go check out 7-Eleven? It’s like, ah, I guess that’s a thing. But wa-wa is huge here. You forget that we don’t have it outside of Korea, okay. So if we go to wa-wa, what should we order? Hoagies. Hoagies. Hoagies. You know what hoagies are? It’s a sub sandwich. Sub sandwich. Like this. Without, not cooked. Cold cuts. Okay. So in Philly we call it hoagie. I think New York, or other places call it hero or subway. And in England we call it sandwich. How do you differentiate the sandwich? We don’t really. No, we don’t. They’re all just sandwiches. So when someone’s like, hey, you want some sandwich? How do you know it’s gonna be like this or this? You don’t, you don’t. You just guess? In fairness, in fairness, let’s be honest, We don’t have many good sandwiches in the UK. If someone asks for a sandwich, generally. Okay. Listen. If someone, don’t you join in. Excuse me. On behalf of our nation and the king. This is the comparison. It is a sandwich. That’s exactly what they’re saying. We don’t call this a sandwich, right? No. We don’t have a word for things like this. When you say you want a sandwich in England, It’s two flat pieces of white toast bread. Yeah. With maybe some ham and cheese in the middle. Some cucumber and cream cheese. I mean, it doesn’t get that exciting. Well, thanks so much, guys. Of course. Thank you. We would never have found this place without you guys. Appreciate it, that’s incredible. Glad you guys liked it. I’m glad you guys liked it. That was a live memory, right there. Yeah. My first ever cheese steak. Yeah. Before cheese steak, we shook hands like this after cheese steak. If we tried to, it would have just, Just slide straight off. If you aren’t following Chef Chris Cho, yeah, Check him out. Some of the best Korean food you’ll find in the States. Right here. Hell yeah. And if you haven’t come to Philadelphia, Angelo’s man, that was an incredible cheesesteak. Thank you guys for putting Philly on the map too. That is, there are plenty of maps on which it features. You guys saw that, right? Soon as they walked in, they said, "JOLLY!" Yeah, that was crazy. That was crazy. That doesn’t happen often.

PHILLY WE OUT HERE!!! 🥳🥳🥳 thank you guys again for coming thru Philly. JOLLY 화이팅~~
American food. Heart attack, high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, diabetes goodness. LoL!
Check out a Hot Roast Beef with gravy. That bread was the star! Nice!!
🙂
2nd thing on the menu fentanyl
No one said to go to pay or Genos, those are the 2 places you DONT go to.
I was so happy to see Angelos! The best. Cooper sharp cheese for the win! Also, all of their sandwiches are awesome. I love the cutlets!
I put on two stone living in Philly for a year! You needed to try cheese fries too which is a Philly thing. Great city.
would have absolutely had to change the video if you'd been duped into going to Pat's or Geno's. Absi-forking-lutely neither of them are worth the trip. If you really want a tourist trap, go to Tony and Nick's (formerly Tony Luke's), they're actually good. I've never had Angelo's, so I can't comment, but my favorite is Steak `em Up.
Cooper Sharp is the only REAL American cheese, not Kraft. Kraft singles are salty crap.
I wouldn’t want that cheese on mine 🤢 in Virginia my area we use provolone or Swiss mushrooms sautéed onions green peppers
But to each their own
I dont hate cheese whiz, i just dont want it on my Philly. Give me some sliced provolone, american, cheddar, or even peperjack instead.
Cheese steak is mid, ngl
Dear God I'm so hungry right now.
Talking to someone about Philly Cheesesteaks does not help reduce my need for one…
Booooooooooooo BetterHelp 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
Appreciate y’all coming to my city but no self respecting Philadelphian ever puts Wiz on their steak. I have never know anybody who’s known anyone who does that but tourist. It’s a tell tell your a tourist. Have them get a water ice and pretzel next from Fred’s.
I grew up in the Philly area, we put ketchup on our cheesesteaks.
8:00.. the bread..the bread makes all the difference
Wow I loved Chris’s energy in the video! Would love to see more videos with you guys all together!
It breaks 💔 when this is your first philly cheesesteak, nothing else comes close. So ur never gonna get that hit again.
So simple that you can pull it off in the UK, just get a ribeye steak, freeze it and then slice it ultra-thin on a meat slicer.
Brits never tried food with flavor
The fact that they don’t adopt certain popular American foods in England by this point is hard to believe
Betterhelp sucks! Please find a better sponsor. 🙏
Anyone notice the Eagles fan in the back left turn around when he said “Go Birds!” 👀😂😂
I'm all for men bettering their mental health by seeking help but i absolutely cannot support any type of online format. The risks associated with having your personal information, your therapy sessions and what ever sensitive information you share being readily available to whoever the website allows is too much of a risk.
If you are seeking help, person to person sessions are the only way to go, do some research, find the therapist who specialises in what you're going through, even if that means trying a few different therapists to get the best recommendations from them. After all, a real therapist will be interested in getting you the best help possible and will point you in the right direction if they can't provide it for you…
I'm pretty sure you guys are doing well enough that you could afford to open your own philly place in the UK i bet you would make a fortune
It’s not a true Philly without green bell pepper and mushrooms and some onions. On sub roll with mayo shaved steak, and melted provolone
Beef smoothie.. gross
Stop it everyone in NY didn’t say pat or Genos even they know it’s a tourist trap
Philly isn't just Kensington Ave.
That's my old neighborhood. And, yea, they make amazing cheesesteaks and pizzas
Dont get shot down there 😂
I think what's best is that they're wearing their vests and jackets but not leaning over while they bite into those cheese steaks. That grease is dripping everywhere
Shout out dude in the Jesus piece hoodie
Had D’lessandro’s last year. Had Pat and Geno’s over 20 years ago. Those are the only three I know of. As a NY’er will have to check out more locations if/when I’m back in Philly.
Love your work, and you are dead on with good bread makes the sandwich, but a proper cheesesteak sub does not use the Whizz. A good provalone or American Cheese is best. Next time you're in the USA, try Big Al's Cafe in Boston!
