It’s been like this for weeks. Super tiny onions and tomatoes

I’ve had smaller potatoes but some sizeable tomatoes. I guess it depends on how the growing season is. I don’t think the potatoes have done that well in the UK based on their size.

Sometimes I get small veggies too. Except the carrots they come in like jumbo size

yeah these are not grocery store grade veggies, and it has gotten way worse

They are buying lower grade produce and selling it full price to you.

  5. Yes. I gave in and just make sure I have a few extra staples on hand, like potatoes and onions. But the last time I added a big russet to make some mashed I ended up having leftovers that I just tossed. I think my eyes are still getting used to seeing “just enough” and not the big portions with leftovers I was used to cooking my whole life.

Onions are the one thing I’d be happy to get smaller ones with HF.

We always get large onions, and pretty much every recipe says to cut up half the onion and discard the rest. Quite often a half-onion is still too much (especially on something like a burger that maybe requires a couple of rings).

Try our best not to be wasteful and put the half-onion in the fridge, since there’s a good chance that tomorrow’s meal will also call for onion. Doesn’t take long until we have a bunch of onions in the fridge that end up being pitched.
