tldr; Any of you run your PowerFlamer or Kahuna Burner in a screen enclosure (screens on sides and ceiling?) – if so how high up is the top of your enclosure?
Having part of my patio rescreened, and asked the installer if it is safe to BBQ under the tallest part of the enclosure (approx 11' high) – he said he does all the time and it shouldn't be an issue, just be sure to use gas and nothing that would have embers floating up (ie charcoal, wood, etc)… However with a PowerFlamer that is outputting 160K BTU (or if I were to go with Kenji's #2 choice – the Kahuna Burner @ 65K BTU) is a lot more heat than a standard bbq grill and wonder if the heat would have enough space to dissipate or be spread out enough with 7-8' of overhead space before hitting the screen enclosure?

I have the Kahuna. I would be very concerned about using it in enclosed spaces. The flame is fine but if you do it right, there are aerosolized oils flying round everywhere when you are cooking. Not only that, it will coat your walls and ceiling with those oils and that could be dangerous over time. And it will smell up the joint too. I personally wouldnt do it knowing what my outside deck looks like after a wok cook- oil gets everywhere
FWIW- I would have bought the power flamer but they were back ordered for months at that time. I knew a guy who had both and said that either one will go nuclear on food in 3 seconds so having 160 btu is serious overkill. Once I got the Kahuna, I would have to agree. It gets my wok glowing red in seconds and if you cook at full throttle, it will burn everything to a crisp in seconds. I can’t imagine more than doubling the BTU and having that be of some kind of value to the cook.
I would still buy the power flamer if it were in stock because…more. But if it’s not available, you are not settling for anything by going with the kahuna. It feels like it could melt my wok if I leave it unattended for longer than 30 seconds At full blast.
