I am a mega fan of the kamado joe and have posted and espoused kamado pizza cooking on many posts (check my history). I am trying to make a Grimaldi quality pizza and it has evaded me on the Kamado.
I went ahead and bought a dedicated pizza oven (a costco miracle purchase – cru champion) and did my first trial today and simply amazing first go.
I only post this if you are like me and tried for years on the kamado and did not have this success.
It totally does not make economic sense…the kamado i great for "ok pizza", but if you are like me and don't care about the money at this point…this is the way!
