Pluck a couple of ripe dark tomatoes, a Cherokee Carbon and a Black Krim. Thick slices. Cook some slab bacon in my cast-iron pan. Crisp lettuce and multi-grain toast. Duke’s Mayo, original, and Maldon sea salt. Perfection! Worth waiting for and working for.
I got an early start this year, and it led to my first BLT of the season just now, the last day of May. Northeast Texas, 8a. I hope you also will be biting into one of these soon where you live. And may we all enjoy many more!
My first tomato of the year is usually split…..1 BLT, and 2, open faced bacon tomato and cheese on toast, broiled for a few minutes until the cheese starts to brown…..
