First time poster. 4ish minutes on each side medium to high heat tried medium rare, got this instead. The discoloured mass beside the steak are eggs I cooked in the juices from the steak

If you enjoyed it, that’s all that matters. If you’re looking for tips on how to get it to the right temp, you can improve…
Flip it more often, preferably with a light weight on top to get better contact with the pan.
I’d eat it. Would I be suspicious the entire time? Yes.

A little more cooked than I aim for but I’d smash that!

My mom would make this homemade pot pie that legitimately looked like someone barfed on a plate and microwaved it…but daYUM it was good barf.

Outside looks amazing but the inside…still looks moist and delicious. I overblasted some chuck eye steaks last week and they ended up well done. Still tasted delicious because of the marbling. Fatty cuts are more forgiving. If this was flank or bison, you’d be eating shoe leather.
