Peppers change color as they ripen

Could be small cause it’s an accidental hybrid

Possibly not enough nutrition?

Doesnt look like a jalapeno.

Maybe needs potash (potassium). That is what the fruits require for growth. Also, add a tablespoon of epsom salt which helps the plant take up nutrients.

It’s not the size of the peppers, it’s how you use them.

If it didn’t pollinate properly it’ll stay small and ripen more quickly – you can confirm by cracking it open and seeing if seeds developed or not. No seeds = pollination issue
My cayenne was doing the same thing this season
