hi friends welcome back to Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana and this is shallow jaw now kids are someone who always are on your case for wanting something different for a snack or for their meal times and we as mothers are forever scrambling to come up with new ideas my recipe today is an easy one it’s crispy chicken fingers now you probably wonder what’s so different about yet another chicken finger recipe we’ll go through the ingredients and you’ll see there are a couple of them that are going to make them the juiciest and the most tender chicken fingers so let’s see what all we are going to need for this recipe corn starch breadcrumbs boneless chicken strips egg yogurt pepper salt oil okay so let’s get started with our recipe for the chicken fingers and like I said you’re probably wondering what is so great about it a lot of recipes now use buttermilk to marinate the chicken which makes it nice and moist and tender well sure that is a great way to marinate the chicken but I have a slight twist here I’m actually going to use some yogurt for this chicken and I would really recommend you to try this out because the chicken comes out so delicious and moist and tender that the kids are really going to enjoy this and now into the yogurt I’m going to just add in one egg and we’ll just whisk this together now this doesn’t really need too much of marination I am just going to mix this and we will put in our chicken strips right into this mixture so I’ve got some lovely chicken so I’m going to go right ahead and add this into this yogurt batter so we just mix this up now what happens in a lot of the recipes is by the time you fry the chicken in hot oil and it’s taken out the chicken tends to dry up and not taste as good but by coating it with this mixture of the egg and the yogurt it actually helps retain that moisture in the chicken so this is looking great now I’m just going to season it with some pepper just a dash some salt and we’ll just mix this up again now if you do have some time you could leave this to marinate for about say maybe 15-20 minutes alternatively this is actually ready to be fried up so I’m going to go right ahead and fire up a batch for you okay now I have some corn flour and I have some bread crumbs here which I’m going to use for coating our chicken here so the way we’re going to do this really is I’m just going to actually use my fingers right now I’m going to take a piece of the chicken and just dredge it in some corn flour and then dip it right into this red crumbs so maybe we’ll do a few of them up ahead and then fry a whole batch full okay so our whole batch full ready here which I have mixed up with the corn flour and our mixture of the breadcrumbs as well and I’ve got some oil here which I have just heated up of course you do want to make sure that the oil is really nice and hot else it’s not going to be not going to cook your chicken strips well and the other key tip here would be is if you have a whole batch of these chicken strips I wouldn’t really use the entire batch in one go because what that does is it would lower the temperature of your oil and then trips are going to take really longer to cook and as a result they would make it probably even a little hard and chewy so I’m just going to fry this in batches of a few of them so these are ready to go in and the oil is nice and hot so I’ll probably put about four to five of them at a time and these cook well chicken is really tender and easy to cook so I would give this about maybe four to five minutes and these would be pretty much ready okay so I’ve been doing these chicken fingers in a couple of batches here and they’re looking nice and golden-brown and I’m just draining them out on a kitchen towel that way just gets rid of all the excess oil and I’ve done it in about three batches so that the chicken cooks really well and doesn’t turn hard and chewy and these are pretty much ready and we can just go ahead and plate some up right here now we don’t often deep-fry things at home so once in a way when you do these are so worth making even though yes they do use oil but trust me they come out so tender and so moist so there you go we have this delicious plate full of wonderful chicken crispy fingers that’s nice and ready and you could serve this up with a nice honey mustard sauce or perhaps even just regular ketchup and they just taste delicious do hope you’re going to try this out and thanks for watching ah do subscribe to our channel on YouTube if you like our videos stay connected happy cooking

I highly recommend mixing your starch into the marinade to add a thicker, more glue-like coating to the chicken. Pre-coat your pieces and let them sit in the fridge for at least 20 minutes so your breading absorbs into the surface of the glue-like chicken pieces. This produces less residual burning of your coating and makes for a better and crispier texture.
