Earwigs do damage plants and their fruits both, but they’re normally not going to do a ton of damage. So maybe get rid of it if you can find it, but dont panic.

They’re good guys! I had an earwig build himself a nice little spot between one of my plant’s leaves and the greenhouse window last year. I got to watch him going in and out all summer.
These guys are pretty neutral for pepper plants. Just leave them be. They can cause some small damage to some plants’ flower petals (dahlias, cosmos, clematis) but I don’t think they’re a problem for peppers. They eat dead plant matter and small invertebrates, including aphids. They’re not the kings of aphid control, but every little helps when it comes to pepper plants.
