Some cakes are famous for a reason. This is one of those cakes! If you find sponge cakes often go dry, try this recipe to produce a moist, delicious cake every time. I love pistachio and so I used them to dust the top. Feel free to finish the Tres Leches anyway you like, you can’t go wrong. Be sure to watch my Trifle recipe for a great way to use the cutoff top of the cake. Wash your sharp knife between cuts of the cake for best results. Enjoy.
Filling;
5 Eggs ( separate yolks from whites)
200g Sugar ( decide to half for yolks and whites)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Milk
240g Flour
Bake at 340F for 40 minutes
Milk Soak;
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Heavy Cream
2/3 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
Let it sit for 1/2 an hour
Whipped Cream;
2 Cups Heavy Cream
2 Tbsp Icing Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Chopped Pistachios for decorating
