Is this plant doomed? I’ve been growing tomatoes for years and never had this happen. The plant looks very unhappy.

I think you should take cuttings from the plant as the main stem is rotting.

Yeah, you need to find a few big suckers, cut them at their base pronto and get them into water. It’ll take a few days or so to develop roots, but then you can plant them back in the ground. This plant as a whole probably ain’t gonna make it. Once you take the cuttings and have them rooting, you could leave the rest of the plant alone just to see what happens.
No definite idea what’s going on here, but my guess would be something related to sitting in water too long.
