This is just rude.

Wow, that’s actually hilarious that they went through the time and effort to write and print copies when it’s literally just regular menu items without meat.

  2. malangkan

Nah, this is just dumb. Really dumb and ignorant.

  3. horsetuna

I don’t get it? Did they accidentally list the regular menu under vegetarian?

  4. apatheticsahm

Are these all made from vegan “meat”? Like how my favorite vegetarian Chinese restaurant lists Chicken and Beef on its menu, but everything is made from soy or seitan?

Hi I’d like the steak please, hold the steak.

  6. big_airliner_whoa

But tuna and chicken are vegetables!

  7. I get ya, but is this worse than nothing?

“cross-contamination may occur” lmao this has to be a joke, but I know it’s not lol

    Delete the meat

    Keep price the same

    Profit – theirs not yours

“Order no steak and double bread” for $15.99? Don’t mind if I don’t!

  11. jschmeau

“Order Somewhere Else” is the general vibe.

Idk about you but if a restaurant pulled this shit, I’d walk out. If they really wanted to accommodate they’d just list them without the meat, not put meat dishes and tell you to order without it.

I actually don’t think this is rude or crzzy lol. It’s happened to me before where I order something “without x” but then it shows up and I realized it also had y and still isn’t vegetarian and I’m so disappointed. I veeeeery often order items on a menu that feature meat and just ask for no meat (crispy chicken wrap with no chicken, for example. Fajitas with no meat. Philly cheesesteak with no steak. Etc etc.). Yeah it’s nice when a restaurant has an actually vegetarian item, but personally I often order other items and just “make” them vegetarian through ingredient omission. Works for me!

They’re instructing you on how to specifically order items to be vegetarian. Also, there are fully vegetarian items on the menu so it’s not like there are 0 options.

I would have just been confused. The joke isn’t funny lol

Seems like a feeble attempt at humor and an intentional FU to vegetarians. edit: words

  16. TheLastHeroHere

I’d burn the menu and then piss it out.

  17. UnstableAccount

That’s pretty much how the Ozarks are.

  18. lochness_memester

If a menu’s vegetarian options are just “remove meat” it really tells me that I’m getting a lower quality, less filling, less thought out meal than meat eaters get for the same price.

  19. sparkster185

us: “So I assume I will receive a reduction in price for omitting the most expensive ingredient, right?”

    restaurants: “lol”

  20. Dessertedprincess

I’m confused. Why is there mention of steak and chicken in the menu ?

  21. Steel_Airship

At first I was confused thinking, “do they not know that vegetarian = no meat?”, then I thought, “they accidentally printed the regular menu”, then I saw the bold letters under each item, lol.

The classic Ceasar makes me nervous. Just order with no meat? 👀 most Ceasar dressing has anchovy paste… really low effort from the restaurant here.

  23. Complete_Mind_5719

They should be knocking several dollars off if no protein. I’m sure they haven’t, which makes this extra gross. This is 100% why 98% of where I eat meals out is fast casual.

  24. miamikiwi

It’s the blatant admission to cross contamination for me. Jeeeeez

  25. Ok-Boomer948

I can’t stop thinking about this because it just seems so weird and unnecessary. So like, why?! Here’s what I came up with—

Their one vegetarian employee is like, “Hey boss, we should really have a vegetarian menu. It’s 2024 and lots of young people are giving up meat. It could be a way to set ourselves apart from all the other mediocre restaurants in the area.”

Boss: That’s too much work. Just make a list of things that are accidentally already meatless. I’m not changing my menu.

Veg employee: There really isn’t anything… Maybe we could serve the salads and pastas without meat though. Can I put those on the veg menu?

Boss: Yeah whatever. Just don’t give them new names and don’t change any of the ingredients. You can just tell ’em to order the steak salad without steak and the lobster mac & cheese without lobster.

    Veg employee: Wait, what?..

I keep wanting to have the balls to point out… on your menu to add chicken it’s $7.00 so if I ask for no chicken it only makes sense to deduct said $7.00 since your restaurant has told me that is what it is worth. Yes, go get your manager I’ll wait. 🙄
