Ingredients:
Beef Short Ribs
4 – 8 lbs bone in beef short ribs
1 large Onion
3 celery stalks
2 large carrots
1 head of garlic
Worcestershire sauce
tomato paste
2 cups beer
5-8 cups of beef stock
Potato Cakes
3 cups mashed potatoes
1 egg
1 cup flour
cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
2 jalapeños (optional)
1/2 onion (optional)
1 bell pepper (optional)

this one right here goes out to all my fellow big backs we’re making beer bra beef short ribs and potato cakes starting off with about 8 lbs of beef short rib heavily salted and peppered look at that bicep PM yeah we’re going to cut on that heat to medium high so we can sear off those short ribs get that thing all down we’re going for a nice color on all sides uh try not to overcrowd the pan or else you won’t get that color right there now that we have that color that we want we can go ahead and start with our miror paa we’re French today babyage one whole onion three celery stocks two large carrots a whole head of garlic live your life don’t be afraid of that garlic about two dashes of wash your sister that was like four dash salt we’re going to let those veggies cook down for a little bit when those veggies have cooked down we’re going to add 2 tablespo of tomato paste and we’re going to mix that up and let that cook down as well now that that’s cooked down we’re going to add about two cups of beer should be all you need and we’re going to cook that down until it no longer smells like alcohol fumes are coming out of the pot now we’re going to go ahead and add our meat back there hey yo here you want want to add enough beef stock to almost cover the top now in an oven preheated to 350 we’re going to put in our pot and that’s going to sit in there for 3 and 1/2 hours for the cakes I take my leftover mashed potatoes two jalapenos a bell pepper an egg half an onion some cheddar cheese mix that well and we’re going to layer in our flour and then we’re going to mix that as well remember when I told you to use cold mashed potatoes I don’t think you told us to do that well if you don’t making these things into the patties will suck like it did for me in this video we’re going to take those patties that you formed up and we’re going to fry them for a little bit on a medium high heat just to get some nice color on each side be careful cuz these things will burn those look crispy I’m going to throw these in the oven at 350 for just about 15 minutes so that flour Can Cook Out look go y oh man Betty Crocker Caked Up in the back look at that and there we have it uh the cakes are done let’s go ahead and check on our short ribs and we got those things thinging next thing that we have to worry about for this meal other than the eventual diabetes that we’ll get is we have to make our gravy so I’m going to go ahead and separate out all of the short ribs I’m going to get all of that stuff as well as that broth make sure it’s cool before you do this and I’m going to throw it in a blender and blend it down and once that’s Blended down I’m going to add it back to the pot with a little bit of beef stock and I’m just going to heat it back up we’re now ready to plate I’m going to put my beef short rib on top of my potato cake and I’m going to put a nice dollop of that gravy on top and look at this busing as the kids say these days here we go I don’t need that knife baby look at that fork tender beautiful plate I need to get a better camera and some lighting but we’ll get there and look at that this could be you for more big back recipes like And subscribe to my channel cooking with voodoo
