If you are looking for a fantastic side dish to go with just about anything, but is particularly great with sandwiches and burgers, look no further! The oven baked zucchini fries are the perfect go along for sandwich night. I have paired these with an open faces chicken parm burger and let me tell you, they were amazing!

These zucchini fries start off with fresh zucchini, washed and trimmed of their ends. Slice in half and then slice each half in half then slice all the long strips in half so you have eight pieces per squash. I used one zucchini per person because I knew my family would gobble these up!

I used a standard breading set up by dredging the zucchini in plain all purpose flour first then dipping in beaten egg with a bit of water added to thin it out and then doused them into a plain, dried bread crumb that I seasoned with my homemade pizza seasoning and a good sprinkling of garlic powder.

Once coated, I placed the fries on a rack, set inside a rimmed baking sheet. When everything was done, I sprayed liberally with some sunflower oil spray and then popped them into a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes until they were browned and crispy.

When I removed them from the oven I allowed them to sit for five minutes and then salted them to taste before serving.

These zucchini fries were simply delicious and we did not miss having fries or pasta with our meal. This is a wonderful alternative to other sided and kind of combines a naughty with a nice.

You can always find the recipe on my website, links are listed below!

I hope you give these oven baked zucchini fries a try and I hope you love them!

hi everyone I’m marine and welcome to my kitchen and today I’m going to be sharing with you how you make these delicious oven baked zucchini fries these are an alternative to a regular french fry or sweet potato fry and they are full of flavor they’re really amazing and I know your family is going to love them I’m serving them alongside a chicken parm open-faced burger and we’re going to go show you how these are put together they’re super easy and I know that they’re just going to be so tasty so let’s go seeing how we put these together okay we’re going to get started on these oven baked zucchini fries these are going to be so great next to the chicken parm burgers that I just made and I knew I had to share these with you these are an alternative to a french fry or a sweet potato fry when you want something crunchy but nutritious next to whatever you’re preparing these are oven-baked so goes without saying that they’re going to be a little bit healthier for you and they’re really really great so what we’re going to need to start I have for zucchini the zucchini we’re actually beautiful today so I have one zucchini for each person i took this routine zucchini i cut the top of the tail off of it I cut it in half and then I cut each half into four pieces so you can see it’s like a little wedge easy step I’m going to set this aside for a moment then we have about a cup of all-purpose flour this has not been seasoned we got a basic breading station here so we’ve got our flour I have two eggs that I’ve beaten with about a tablespoon of water and I have about two cups of bread crumb we’re probably not going to use all of them but I have a half a cup of Parmesan cheese about a tablespoon of pizza seasoning and I’m going to hit this with a pretty good dose about a teaspoon of garlic powder you season your bread crumb however you like these are seasoned Italian seasoned bread crumb but I always season them additionally from how they come out of the package and I always have these in my pantry because you just never know when you’re going to run out of fresh bread or what and these dry breadcrumbs are really good for some applications where fresh ones just are not and I do not really like panko breadcrumb I know horror of Horrors but I mean I don’t really like something so what I’m going to do is I’m going to take some of the zucchini and I’m going to toss it in his bag with the flour and we just want to coat these so that the egg will stick to them if you try and stick the zucchini in the egg mixture fifth out first dusting them with flour yeah it’s not going to work so just dip them in the egg make sure you get each end and then stick them in the breadcrumb and this isn’t going to be a super thick coating it’s just going to be enough to cover the zucchini and then I have a baking sheet here and I’m just going and with a rack on it and I’m going to just put my zucchini fries on the rack and this is going to help them to cook evenly and get nice thumb air circulation so they get nice and crispy there’s another one and I’m just going to continue we’re going to dredge in flour first dip an egg make sure you get it coated really really well then cover it in the breadcrumb pop it on the rack I have my oven preheated at 400 degrees and when these are ready to go I’ll be back and I’ll show you what they look like before they go in the oven alright we’ve coated all of our zucchini fries and now what I’m going to do is I’m going to hit them with a little bit of sunflower oil this is just spray sunflower oil all right into our oven our oven is 400 degrees we’re going to bake these for 20 to 25 minutes and when they’re ready to come out I’ll be back and I’ll show you what they look like all right our zucchini fries are ready to come out of the oven they’re nice and brown and with any luck they’re crispy and they’re easy to get off of the rack they are they’re perfect okay so these are ready and we will meet you back over at the counter and we’ll show you what these look like and we’ll fix your plate of zucchini fries on the side all right there you have it these are our zucchini fries oven baked totally a wonderful alternative you get vegetable but you feel like you’re eating something naughty they taste like your naughty too yeah they do I have sprinkled these with some salt and they’re just really delicious i’m going to Rick take a bite of this just so I can show you what it looks like on the inside and there you go there’s that delicious zucchini it’s not overcooked it’s not too soft it’s not soggy it’s a little bit tender crisp it’s just right really really good now all you need is a big old tip of ranch dressing and you’re all set even better mm-hm the best part is these didn’t get fried there are a lot healthier for you than fried zucchini a little bit healthier for you than regular fries you have got to give these a try they’re really amazing yes and with summer time coming up zucchini is going to be you know people are going to look to get rid of it so now you know another way to use your zucchini that’s coming out of your garden so if you liked this video today please consider giving me a thumbs up it really does help our channel get seen by lots of other people if we increase in the rankings and if you’re not already please consider hitting the subscribe button so you don’t miss out on any of the real food for real people real easy recipes that we present every monday wednesday and friday right here on our youtube channel and in our own kitchen so i hope you give these oven baked zucchini fries a try the next time you went aside for a sandwich or another meal and i hope that you love them and until next time I’ll see ya garlic and this is just going to help us create much harm now what I want you to do is take a couple pasta sauce or maybe trouble homemade version you can use that that would be welcome here I’m just going to put have the sauce on the top of each one the you

  5. Your version of oven baked Zucchini is SO MUCH EASIER than mine! First, I have never thought about cutting my Zucchini into wedges. And second, my prep takes longer. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to try these. YUM!!

  6. Thank goodness! Someone else that doesn't like panko! Recipe looks like something I would like gotta try it.

  7. I tried this recipe last night to use up the rest of my summer zucchini stash and and they were wonderful! I actually was out of eggs, so I took a plunge and dipped in olive oil instead of the egg mixture and it worked wonderful!! Thanks for helping a young new wife learn new recipes!
