Fondue is a great party recipe — Mairlyn Smith shows us two yummy versions from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Marren our fond memories of your trash wasn’t that long ago and it feels like it was a million years away already yeah that’s what happens really good time so I think so the memories are gonna last you forever though so we did a little bit of sweet and we did cheese now we’re gonna do beef tenderloin so where did you enjoy this right this was at the same place at the shadow Lake Louise this was part of that three-course thing that you just felt so full but it’s gorgeous and I what I liked about there’d be fondue is wasn’t oil they’re using beef broth oh so I just put beef stock in here and I really like this fondue pot because you can put it right on the stove and then go right over to your your little burner here now that’s cool so I wouldn’t have burnt myself and and another trick you need to know about fondue is you have to get special lighter fluid it’s called gelled fuel okay you can get it at any hardware store but don’t be sticking a candle or you know or lighter fluid like don’t you know yeah right so anyway always that yeah yeah Oh bad idea anyway and then you need one of these kind of lighters you know like I wouldn’t be lighting this on a gas stove or anything or you know right nine-one-one anyway okay so and then you do that and what I loved about the beef there they had they actually used bison I mean Alberta’s like crawling with bison well they’re not really but they have a hook buffalo yeah I really liked it but we you can use beef tenderloin here and I would just buy these medallions because you know what we don’t need that that’s a serving for one person okay and so all you’re gonna do is slice it really really thin Lee and and then what you do for the fondue is that you’ve got this hot beef broth and you have your little stick I mean if you don’t know how to find you I don’t know what planet you’ve been living on but anyway you know and then you just stick it in there and cook it now the trick is to not eat anybody else’s fork so yeah make sure that you’re facing your fork you know like don’t like do musical chairs and no the dinner that’d be stupid and then other things that they had which I thought was interesting is they had little baby potatoes but they’re already precooked okay you’re just heating things up yeah and then I also parboiled Brussels sprouts because I am a Brussels sprouts lover you love those babies I always try to promote them and yeah I should have a banner miss BS there well have that made for you and then I like that idea I like that idea too oh I shouldn’t said it anyway green beans and then mushrooms I’m a big fan of mushrooms yeah and so you just have this wonderful conversation I think that was so great about the fondue is that it was fun and you’re not like snarfing things down because you don’t have time to snarf things that’s right you’re taking the time cuz you have you have to cook that mean you have to cut while it’s really skinny so it doesn’t take all that doesn’t take a long time I bet you’re cooking and it’s interactive and everyone’s got their you know their own fork in there and is there something about it that’s it just looked like three hours to have jam and it was really it was a lovely moment but I mean I thought this coming back into style we were talking about phone do people call that one I’ve got one so and you can even buy them they’re there you’re actually easy to find now now when you left this lovely location you went straight to a dude ranch we went to an adult dude ranch and I don’t know how to ride a horse so I was a bit scared I was like ah actually the first day I was so tough scared I was gonna fall off I held onto the horn so strong that I had this horrible pain in my neck I went why do I have it’s like cuz you have a death grip on yeah yeah right so okay well we’ve got a shot of horse u2’s let me because when okay so there she is deceivers hum I got off as Scott was shooting this on my iPhone and they said slide off in Scott you know my wonderful husbands like didn’t help me shot it Yeah right it was like Marilyn that was great video perfect yeah if you want to see that again and again and again yes I do go to our website yeah dot CA my just replay it is he’s so funny I’m so happy you had a good time recipe on our website
