I love Royo bagels but for their size I feel like the calorie content is too low to be true. They have a ton of fiber and I was wondering if they are ~ not counting calories from fiber ~ as some sort of false marketing/ scam. I don’t want to stop eating them but I also don’t want to accidentally be consuming way more calories than I think I am. Thank you!

Btw I make my own using egg white, oat fiber, and psyllium husk and hella sweetener and it comes out to about 20 each. Hahaha. The only calories come from egg whites

I personally don’t like them so idk, but you can weigh the bagels to see if they match (or are close to) the weight on the bags.

If it’s a different weight, you can just do the math to figure out exactly how many calories it is.

Fiber isn’t counted because the body can’t digest it (aka, doesn’t get turned into glucose). So yeah it’s accurate

they can’t just lie on those labels in the us. so, yeah.

Nope. The resistant wheat starch they use has been lab tested to NOT be negligible so subtracting it off the net carbs/calorie counts is inaccurate but still legal. It’s something like 2.2kcal/g

Yeah. Some people will argue that net carbs aren’t real because of a couple studies but whenever I use these kinds of products it doesn’t negatively effect my progress or deficit so I believe it.
