I planted a dozen different varieties of tomatoes and didn't write anything down. I can start to tell the determinant and indeterminate varieties apart once the get a few feet tall.

Took it an extra step and mixed my different sucker clones. Same when sowing my sunflower, squash, bean, radish and pepper varieties.

It's a slow motion suprise all season!

I don’t label mine but I do add them to my Gardenate app so I at least know what’s out there.

I direct sow everything I can get away with. There is some mystery when old seeds don’t germinate but I’m willing to let that go. Sometimes they pop up as pseudo volunteers the next year which I also enjoy the mystery of.

I had 5 volunteer tomato babies this year. I kept the one that looked like an heirloom (thicker, darker stalk), likely Cherokee purple or some such, and gave the rest away.

    Lazy/chaos gardening for the win!

My 18 month old kid took all the tags in the pots and rearranged them to his liking. Not sure what’s what but I know my super 100’s aren’t black krims.
