Growing a few different varieties in an outdoor raised bed for the first time. My cayenne and my jalapeño plants have black discoloration at the joints of the branches off the stem and up the stems. What is causing this? First time growing anything, but I doubt this is normal.

    Very normal, it’s a build up of anthocyanin at the growth nodes. Plant might be getting a bit more sun than it needs, so it produces more of the anthocyanins to protect against UV light from the sun.
