Have you ever stopped an ice cream truck and bought one of those pops or ice cream bars that are shaped like SpongeBob, Batman, Sonic, etc? With the gum ball eyes? Or had a red white and blue rocket pop (cherry, lime, blueberry)?

Perry’s Super Hero ice cream is cherry bubblegum, lemon and blue raspberry ice cream with a milk base and an airy texture. Similar to any general Blue Moon vanilla flavor but with added cherry and bubblegum.

Very artificial, especially the bubble gum is like Dubble Bubble bubblegum with a cherry flavor. None of the flavors are particularly enjoyable by themselves (except the blue raspberry, but together, the flavor brings back memories. The good kind of ice cream pop. Very much a kid’s ice cream pop. And the there is a nice vanilla milky quality that ties it all together. Has a cherry lemon aftertaste.

While I did not like the bubble gum flavor at first as it’s the first one I tried (see pic), it definitely grew on me. Reminded me very much of eating SpongeBob’s (cotton candy and fruit punch base flavor) bubblegum eyes.

Past the initial visual of the ice cream, the swirl of colors is fantastic. Very bright. Would definitely look great on a kid’s cone.

  • Would I get this again? Maybe! This isn’t a high brow ice cream by any means. But gosh did I enjoy that SpongeBob pop.
  • Rating: 6.5/10. Not for everyone, but not bad at all.

About 15 or 20 years ago Breyers sold pink bubble gum (It had little squares of pink bubble gum in it too) and it was pretty good it was pretty much what I remembered eating as a kid in the early ’80s except the ice cream was blue. Actually it might have been Baskin-Robbins or maybe it was a breyers and Baskin-Robbins collaboration lol😄🤷🏻‍♂️ I just remember the box was pink.

Anyway cherry bubble gum sounds pretty good to me lol
