I frequently comment on posts but never post on this sub, but I will now.
The other day I went to Fresas on 9th and Lamar. I was curious because the pictures look good and I was wanting to get a salad. I also don’t want to base the entire place on one salad so I may return to try their tacos, but this place feels like it’s a rip off!
I was wanting to get a salad because I’m trying to be more health conscious lately, Fresas was the closest place to me at the moment so I decided to give them a try. Their pictures looked decent and their salads looked good. I got the Jerez salad and It was priced at 11$ but with tax came out to more like 13$ and some change.
I get to the window and the worker hands me a big bag, I was surprised buy it and thought wow they must’ve added a lot to this salad. Later I opened the bag up and was surprised that inside this big bag was a salad container that was 1/3 the size of the bag, like it was significantly smaller than the bag. So I pull out my salad and to my disappointment the container was only half way full. It was the most disappointing thing I’ve paid for in a while. I know that typically to go orders have smaller portion sizes, but I was really annoyed that they have a to go salad container that is made to place larger portions and they don’t utilize it. Also the bag was big, I felt super guilty that the container and the bag weren’t utilized to the full potential, and I just contributed to more waste because I ordered a mediocre salad.
The salad itself was bland and uninspired, based on this experience I would not go back without a suggestion. It was overpriced, and did not get the value I wanted, the amount of toppings and greens weren’t comparable to the picture I saw in the website.
What are your thoughts and suggestions?
