Hello! I have just returned home from a wonderful trip to Sicily. The hotel served this pistachio cake / tart on the breakfast buffet and I would love to eat it again one day but I realise now that I never asked what it was called. It has a pastry base, a layer of pistachio cream, a layer of chopped pistachios, then some kind of cakey top. Any help much appreciated!

Looks like a closed off Crostata with the thickness and crumbliness of the cake itself but don’t hold me to that, hopefully someone can give you the correct answer
I don’t think it has a specific name. The base look like a crostata but the top is too thick to be a crostata. Try sending an email to the hotel if they can give you the recipe
It might not be this but here are 3 websites to find local recipes of torta al pistacchio. Translate if necessary.

It’s called Torta Di Pistacchi, definitely not Crostata like others are suggesting.
