Black Cherry and Chocolate Smoothie Bowl Recipe!
Make this easy smoothie bowl at home with black cherries and chocolate honey syrup. It’s delicious, gluten-free, dairy-free and pretty too. I used my blender and a lot of stirring to get a smooth velvety consistency since I don’t have a fancy bullet thingy.
Black Cherry Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
makes two bowls
2 cups frozen dark cherries
juice of half a lemon
1 tablespoon of honey to your blender.
about a cup of water
Chocolate Honey
1Tablespoon cocoa powder with 1.5T of honey stirred together until smooth
Toppings
coconut chips
freeze-dried berries
chopped cherries
cocoa nibs
Using a blender, roughly combine the cherries, lemon juice and honey. Add the water and keep mixing until you can get the mixture to be as thick as possible but still blending. You may have to add more water, just add it gradually. You will have to stop and stir a few times too. I’m not going to lie the blending/stirring was a a bit of a pain in the butt.
Transfer the smoothie into bowls and put in the freezer while you prep other toppings. Drizzle with chocolate honey and top with gluten-free granola, coconut, dried berries and chopped cherries. I also added some chocolate nibs for a deep bittersweet chocolate flavor. Enjoy!
