Bon Appetit Atlantic sardines in hot olive oil – purchased from Chaves Grocery & Gifts 355 Grand St. Bridgeport, CT 06604. (203) 366-9260. Price not printed on receipt.
Dark green can, hard to read date printed on side. Easy to open tin.three good sized sardines. Removed first one, seems firm. Split open, removed spine, squeezed, test ok, crunches, removed extra insides. I always toss first spine, can't stand looking at it.
First bite meaty, little bit of heat, slightest bit dry if I'm being picky. Ate the rest, no scales, skin in good shape, good size, chilli pepper in bottom of can, and looks like extra insides, so could possibly be cleaned better. Good solid tin.

Posted before I finished the last one, there was a scale on the last one, but I’m fine with a scale or two, as I eat them from the can and generally just pull them off as I’m eating, or just eat them if they were thinner.
I’ve found a huge variation in quality between the different tins of Bon Appetit sardines I’ve tried – this was a thoughtful review so I may very well go ahead and get this time one day.
Thank you
I just picked up my first Bon Appetit can the other day (in hot sauce) but have yet to try it. Nice review, thanks.
