hey there what’s going on it’s lisa with raw food for kids and i’m going to be making a wardrobe salad for you today with a lemon with a mango lemon poppy seed dressing fat-free raw vegan totally healthy for you it tastes unbelievable and uh the nice thing about the salad too is you can do different variations of it there’s really no right or wrong way um i went ahead just to save some time i made the dressing i just got out my blender and what i have in here is the juice of one lemon the meat from one mango i used a champagne mango but uh it doesn’t really matter uh and i put in a tablespoon of poppy seeds and all you want to do is just put your lemon juice in your mango in the blender pray it for a couple seconds just until it’s uh smooth and then add your poppy seeds and just kind of blend it for one more second just to kind of mix it up and um it is so good the um the mango is naturally sweet so we don’t need to add any honey or agave or anything like that and then the lemon just helps to balance it out and as you can see look how creamy that salad dressing is typically wardrobe salad is made with mayonnaise and uh we don’t want to do that because we want to make it nice and healthy and light because it’s getting summertime and i think i’m going to do like a salad series here because i think most people are interested in eating more fruits and vegetables during this time of the year and look how pretty with the poppy seeds as well so anyways that’s our dressing and then for the wardrobe part um i actually got inspired to make this because i really don’t have too much in my fridge i got to go to the grocery store but i did have some apples i had a couple stalks of celery left i had some walnuts in the cabinet and then i sometimes people add grapes or raisins i have raisins but um i had a plum that was uh nice and ripe so i thought i had a plum as well i’m just gonna put this over some fresh spinach so here’s what i got i got everything cut up you just want to do um this is actually one hungry person or you know uh for two people just kind of a light lunch equal parts i’ve got uh some celery and and you could do this in like chunks because wardrobe salad tends to be like a little bit of a chunkier salad so i just got some celery chopped up equal parts um it’s probably about uh three stalks of celery one plum um some walnuts that i just rough chopped just to keep them kind of chunky and then um one apple and i want to show you just real quick um i just cut the apple in half and then quarter it and then i find the easiest way to get the core out if you can see this but i just lay it down on a flat side and i just take my knife and just kind of angle it down and that just takes the the core right out and then i just uh just do a rough chop here like that so i’ll just add that to it so real simple i got my bowl here i’m just gonna add all my ingredients so i’ve got one apple diced one three stalks of celery uh cut up one plum diced and about a half a cup of walnuts just rough chopped let’s put everything in your bowl here and then i’ve got some golden raisins you can use grapes um you can put cranberries if you wanted to i’m just going to kind of sprinkle it in probably end up being about a quarter of a cup okay and then i’m going to take my salad dressing and the nice thing about this i mean look at that color guys and you can see the specs from the the poppy seeds just and the manga just makes it nice and creamy this is just a beautiful little salad nice thing about this is the salad dressing is super super good for you so it doesn’t matter that we use all of it we’re not having to worry about calories or fat like with most people when they eat a salad they try to eat a salad to be healthy and then you know they put on a half a cup of ranch dressing or something it’s not too healthy anymore so look i got everything in here i’m just gonna mix this up oh my god this poppy seeds make it look so pretty yummy look at that guys i gotta taste this just by itself let’s see i’m a little good yeah make a salad parfait you can eat it just like that free presentation below lettuce cup if you’re entertaining and just put that right in there voila you want to make it a little more substantial just get some uh i got some spinach here you could use some chopped up romaine lettuce um you could even use some um charred we’ve got some swiss chard cut that up it’s a nice tender green beet greens let’s get a nice bed of spinach here like that and a little larger spoon here look at this guys you put that right on top of the spinach like that again no right or wrong way you want to put some tomatoes in there put some tomatoes in there if you want to use pecans but pecans that and if you really want to get fancy you see that can you see that that’s a lunch if you really get fancy sprinkle little poppy seeds around but anyways it’s just for jenna and i so this is uh a nice healthy uh wardrobe salad my my ver my version of it so anyways i hope you like this um i think i’m actually gonna do a little salad series just with some creative different um salads that probably forgot about but have had at one point in your life and just make a healthier alternative to it again it’s always good to have different ideas in the as a go-to um just to have in on file in your brain i guess so when you’re looking for something to eat and you’re going through the fridge or the cabinet and you think you don’t have anything you all center like oh hey look i got this this and this and i can make i can make
