Do you you want your bake Cod Fish to be flaky or tender and moist? I’ll show you the exact temperature to set your oven if you want to bake your cod fillets and I’ll tell you for how long. And how much is wild caught cod fish today? #codfish
To cook cod fish I preheat my oven to 400F and for a moist tender texture I’ll cook for 12 to 15 minutes. If I want more of a flaky texture to my cod fillets I will cook for 18 to 20 minutes. Before putting the cod in the oven I’ll season mine with salt, pepper, lemon, cayenne pepper, and extra virgin olive oil.
Cod is an excellent source of:
Vitamin B12
Niacin
Phosphorus
Selenium
Omega-3 fatty acids
Choline
Iodine
I want to show you how to bake cod fish this is wild caught cod fish that I got at Publix so baked as opposed to grilling it or frying it so I’ll go ahead and preheat my oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit right now the 400 degrees is the perfect perfect temperature as you can see here I got the wild caught at Publix and it’s about 20 18 to 20 bucks per pound in 2023 can you believe inflation so I got a pound and a quarter so it came out to 23 bucks just for this amount the reason I get wild caught is as opposed to regular cod fish is wild cult it’s not like farm-raised so if you just get regular farm raised Cod or salmon it’s going to be farm raised and they’re going to feed it soy corn wheat again we’re at 400 degrees Fahrenheit preheating right now uh tin foil laced with olive oil and of course you can spice this up any way you’d like a little bit of salt like cayenne pepper for a little bit of a bite to it I got some thyme leaves as well and let’s go ahead and base it with some olive oil extra virgin olive oil now depending on the texture if you want it really flaky put it in for about 18 to 20 minutes if you want it to be more moist and juicy that’s the way I like it you want to put it in for about 12 minutes to 15 at the most so that’s what I want to do good all right then we’ll come back all right we’re ready yummy yummy yummy now I forgot the beginning to put a few squirts of lemon on there but it’s okay I’ll go ahead and add some lemon on there now all right let’s go ahead and try it very moist as opposed to flaky now that’s that’s cod fish I love it
