A few of the larger leaves have these little dots. Most leaves overall don't have them at all though.

Paying attention here. I have the same and I suspect mites.

Looks like pests to me, but maybe I am too English to be experienced with sun scald

As far as I know sun scald doesn’t appear in tiny little dots like that , it’ll be whole chunks of the leafs showing it. Looks like a pest problem.

My peppers looked the same a few days ago with tiny brown bugs under the leaves. I blew them off with an electric air duster and sprayed everything with neem oil. Now we wait…

I don’t have the bug issue but my Carolina Reaper has leaves that are about this color. Feel like it’s not green enough…

I’ve had a lot of this so far this season too. I thought it was from low overnight temps

Are those little brown bugs spider mites? Do you have or see any webbing? Check, even in the dense areas of your plants. They eat little dots out of the leaves like your photograph, and lay eggs on the underside of the leaves. If not, Idk what those are. Good luck, OP.

I actually just noticed this on a few of my leaves outside. I have some neem oil laying around so I’ma try to spray them I think.
