Is this soybean paste still good?

I want to make jajangmyeon with this paste but it seems like its past the expiration date

Smell: decent, nothing bad smelling
Looks: some sort of liquid is there. Not sure if oil?

I kept it in a cool pantry after every use so no refrigeration.

Is it still good? Thanks!!
