I had this egg delivered and assembled by the dealer last week. There's a gap at the back and smoke seems to escaping from there. Is this normal?

No, it will cause the temp to drift. It’s most likely just misaligned. I have to very carful where I have my probe wire when I close the lid for the same reason.
Edit: in the very last part it does look like the band is sitting a bit low
Visually it looks fine , but obviously it isn’t. I find it odd. Is your gasket on properly ?
You got to adjust your rings. Get them just under/above the gasket line all around the bottom/top. Then tighten everything up. An extra set of hands helps.
Then place a dollar placed on the gasket, with the lid closed it should have resistance when pulled all around
Exact same thing happened with mine. The spacing of the rings is most likely off. Several YT videos on the subject. Need a wrench and some vise grips.
I had this with mine and just tightened some screws here and there to fix it.
Search dome adjustment FOGO Charcoal on YouTube. I made a couple of videos about how to fix that.
This is an easy fix.
1. open the egg
2. unhinge both coil springs in the back
3. Hold the lid while closing. Do not drop!
4. Top lid only, loosen all screws but do not take them all the way off
5. Adjust lid accordingly using the methods mentioned above.
-not the best idea to do it while smoking but if you do it while smoking, use your bbq gloves.
-definitely do not do it when grilling. Hotter.
6. Tighten screws
7. Open lid carefully and hinge coil springs back
Fixed.
Definitely do not forget to unhinge the coil springs when adjusting. You will be fighting the alignment and wondering why it’s not adjusting. I have been there before. Not fun.
Happy Grilling!
Replace your gaskets
You don’t need to do anything up and to the point you get tired of spending unnecessary amounts of money on lump….then adjust your bands.
