Why do my tomatoes always get curly leaves.

    There’s nothing wrong. They’re trying to conserve water. You may need to water more, which wouldn’t be a surprise for a tomato in a container during the heat of summer. It also could be that the variety you are growing is just going to engage in some recreational leaf curling this time of year no matter what you do.

    I would think that it would droop more than curl if it was not enough water. Do you use fertilizer?

    My Cherokee purples have never uncurled since I planted them months ago. Still getting decent fruit

    Purple varieties tend to be more prone to physiological leaf curl
