previously on the bike hello hey babe uh did you go to town today get some stuff to eat no oh i thought you tell me too oh crap i gotta go home figure something out [Music] we fix it make some salmon patties salmon cakes whatever you want to call them they are delicious and look they’re not perfect they don’t have to be perfect hey we’re gonna eat this it’s a real deal [Music] the value gives you everything you need no matter what’s cooking or who you’re gonna feel come along and you will see hang up hat kick off your boots pull up a chair there’s a room for you tonight you’re cooking with the alligator man [Music] poor now raining today in south louisiana but when it does that and you got to stick around the house what i like to do is cook some good good comfort food and that’s what we’re going to do right now we call it gooper down here in south louisiana and what it is is peanut butter and jelly mixed together and you make a sandwich but we’re gonna take it a step further this time we’re gonna make some stuff like i do french toast and we’re gonna fry the peanut butter and jelly sandwich on our griddles it’s gonna be good first off we’re gonna make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich we call it goober down here and watch how we do this get our peanut butter now this is gonna be good it’s gonna be different it’s not just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich you’re gonna see oh that pretty what and you’ve got to use texas toast doing this don’t buy that little bitty thin bread you can but it’s better this way trust me i’ve been doing this a long time ain’t no you’re just playing with one you might well make two it’s calling for three days of rain so i’m gonna have to eat this the next two or three days i’ll be all right now i like the creamy peanut butter a lot of people like to crush it but this trust me use creamy you’ll see why in a minute now we’ve got some jelly coming out here y’all this is gonna be so good gotta use lots of jelly i like to kind of mix mine in mix it up get it all in there you can see in a minute okay well we ain’t through yet watch this get you two more pieces get your peanut butter out again we’re gonna double up on this get you some more peanut butter on here oh yeah y’all just don’t realize how good this is gonna be now we’re gonna put this on top of here i know what y’all thinking anybody could do this yes anybody can do this but the next step what’s really important smash it down a little bit but i’m gonna play this for right now then we gotta make part two i love doing this this is something i used to love to do with my kids all right here we go y’all y’all gotta watch this very carefully down here inside where we down we never measure nothing we just cook it okay we’re gonna start with two eggs no shells and this is the reason i cook outside okay we’re gonna kind of beat these eggs up a little bit now we’re going to add some brown sugar in here you need exactly that much then i’ll be mixing this up a little bit because you do want that broke up real good oh my goodness it’s coming together y’all thinking we prove now but we ain’t watch you put exactly that much vanilla no more oh that smells good now we’re going to put a little half and half in here [Music] well the reason i use half and half is because that’s what grandma used to do but grandma used to milk her own cow that morning and she’d have cream you know it’s just the way what she did she used fresh cream every morning to make this with oh golly this is gonna be good all right let me get over here now and it’s still raining out here but you’ve got to get your butter next this is the next step we’re going to turn this up a little bit and open our butter up salted or unsalted don’t matter and this is what i’m going to do with it i’m going to make it sizzle that should be i like lots of butter on mine oh yes once you get that you get your uh get your mixture here get your peanut butter and jelly sandwich y’all watch this now y’all watch it turn it here turn it here it’s all on there get all corners watch it go good once more time y’all this is why you have to have a texas coat it’s good and thick it sucks up the french toast sauce i make and it just makes it a lot better this way okay we’re gonna let it fry down just a minute this is gonna be delicious super good i just know it because i’ve had it before all right now next step in here is to flip this oh yeah yo this is gonna be super duper good here this good stuff that rain it’s starting to slow down a little bit now i can hear myself think no no wouldn’t that all right y’all y’all just watch here this is gonna be super good look at that nothing but goodness cut my black stone off oh should we cut it like mama used to sure look at that oh golly look look look look you do it this way the peanut butter starts oozing out the side the jelly comes out the side y’all excuse me for a minute no good i used to cook these velvets a long time ago the jelly the uh is most time you don’t eat peanut butter and jelly this is a little messy that’s why i’m outside but with the french toast dill to peanut butter and jelly it’s just super good [Music] [Applause] the biggest difference between being a dad and a granddad i would say is being a granddad you don’t have to say no being a dad you have to say no being a granddad you don’t have to uh but you have to teach them and our rule is usually around the house we’ll let kids get away with anything as long as they don’t get hurt and that’s just the way we roll you know but i bring my grandkids back here fishing with it and hunting and stuff they go frogging they know how to catch a frog they know how to do everything they do all this you know and they love it you know and i loved it coming up with my grandpa that’s that’s what we did and uh i you know a lot of stuff that i didn’t realize now he would go out with me and show me how to catch frogs even though i missed every frog and the next night he would go back without me and really catch frogs you know the next day the dress frog and in my mind i caught all them frogs and a lot of times i was lucky if i caught one but in my mind it let me think i caught all this food so and then you know it builds up your strength and it makes you think you can do stuff and for long you’re doing it and you know you’re actually out here providing but you got to teach them you’ve got to teach them next time i’m going to buy you i want to show y’all something it’s a staple food we all eat around here and love it and it’s a good go-to food biscuits and sausage and gravy oh there’s some good stuff here [Music] you

  9. Brilliant idea for PB&J. Bruce, I felt a thump on my head when you stuck that knife in the jelly jar. My grandpa would give a big thump on the head if we ever stuck a knife instead of a spoon in the jelly jar. To this day, I never put a knife in the jelly jar.
