Yes. It’s the bean cooking liquid. In the recipe it points you to a bean recipe, and that’s where the liquid comes from.
Yes, I guess it’s their classy way of calling the bean water lol. Either the liquid from after cooking the soaked dried beans or the bean juice from canned beans
I often see these instructions for canned goods. I suppose if you’ve precooked beans and discarded the hroth you could substitute water with instant broth for flavoring. Maybe 1/3 cup or so.
On one hand, the recipe looks fine. On the other, I am hesitant to take instructions from someone who doesn’t know what aquafaba is.
