I made these out of roll fencing, I’m planning to use some wooden stakes for support and add more fencing on top as the tomatoes grow. I think this might be better than traditional tomato cages since I can make them as tall as I like, what do y’all think?

it’s my first year gardening just tell me if this is a terrible idea🥲
I’m curious about how difficult it will be to harvest the tomatoes?
The best stuff to use is remesh.
Looks like fencing, but is used to reinforce concrete.
It’s pricey now but has 4 x 4 openings and I am on year 8 of using the same cages.
I’ve tried this. The issue I had is that there isn’t internal support, and they tend to fall over. About halfway through the season, I needed to go get a bunch of bamboo stakes to hold up the cages and some of the stems of the larger plants. The next year, I just went with bamboo teepees wrapped with twine. That is now my go-to for individual plants. For plants in rows, I do the Florida weave.
