hey guys welcome back to my channel for today’s video i’m going to be showing y’all a delicious guilt-free recipe today we’re going to be making some low-carb keto chili cheese fries with an awesome fry replacement so let’s go ahead and get started first thing i’m going to go ahead and do is start chopping up some toppings just so they’re ready before we chop up our fry replacement so some toppings i like to go in with i had some green onions on hand so i’m gonna go ahead and just slice these thinly you could use green onions or i know some people like to put like regular diced onions on their chili but i prefer green onions so i’m just gonna slice a couple i’m gonna go ahead and put these off to the side just in a bowl so those are ready for topping later i also do have some sliced jalapenos on hand but those are already sliced up get some jalapenos too then i’m gonna go in with a diced onion this is gonna be for inside my chili while it cooks so i’m gonna go ahead and peel this off and it’s just a small one i’m not using much and i would stand here crying chopping this up but i do not feel like doing that so i’m gonna go in with my chopper makes life so much easier when i use my chopper i go ahead and cut this in half i got my chopper right here this thing is amazing to chop vegetables with and onions so you can skip the crime all right and we got our diced onion in there all right so our fry replacement today is going to be a jicama i have tried several like potato replacements you guys and this is my favorite out of all of them but you got to cook it a certain way so we’re going to cook it and i’ll show y’all what i mean first you want to go ahead and peel the skin off this is good too like you don’t only have to um cook jicama you can just eat it just like this and slice it up and i usually like to usually see people put like some lime on here or some lemon with some tahini kind of like you would kind of do a cucumber but hekama is great as well so we’re just going to go ahead and peel off all the skin and it comes off pretty easy jicama is pretty hard um we don’t want it crunchy so we’re gonna cook it down before we do air fry it and i swear it’s like the best potato replacement i absolutely love it okay so i got my jicama nice and peeled it’s going to look like something like this and i did rinse it off you’re going to go ahead and cut off the ends it’s going to be a little tough we’re going to start making fry strips so i’m going to go ahead cut this in half and then i’m going to go in with some slices and then we’re just going to cut strips i do mine about this thick they’re all going to be different sizes because the jicama you know it’s not perfectly look at this we got some beautiful fry replacements and you see how it is tough right it’s going to be tough so we got to get these nice and soft all right i got all my french fry strips nice and cut now we’re going to move on to the stove and get these softened before we air fry i got some boiling water right here we’re going to go ahead and add in our jicama slices and straight in we got to pre-cook them a lot of people tend to make that mistake they’ll just straight air fry the jicama and it’s not good it comes out crunchy so i have learned this trick to just go ahead and pre-boil them coat it in some olive oil and airfry and they always come out perfect so you’re gonna let these come back to a boil and these are going to simmer here for about 15 to 20 minutes so they can get nice and tender so just leave them here my jicama fries have been boiling in my water for 20 minutes you’re going to see that they’re getting like clear and you know they’re ready when you can put a fork through them and they are not hard anymore so we’re going to go ahead and drain the water and we’re going to toss them in a bowl all right these are about to go in our airfryer i went ahead and drained the water and they’re still nice and hot now we have them in our bowl so we gotta air fry them but i like to coat them in a little bit of olive oil you can also use some avocado oil if you’d like to this is gonna help them get nice and crispy and let the seasoning stick to these so season with what you like whatever you season your homemade fries with go ahead and use i have this french fry seasoning that i got from hb it is fiesta i think it’s great it gives that french fry flavor because this is what we’re trying to accomplish so i like to go in with some of this so i’m gonna go in with a little bit or a lot because i’ll season with my heart so we’re gonna get these nice and coated i’m gonna give them a little toss real quick make sure they get all nice and coated in the olive oil as well a little bit more seasoning and then this seasoning is kind of a little salty already so i only go in with a very little salt just to taste and you can adjust it at the end as well and then of course we need some black pepper so i’m gonna go in with some black pepper and we’re gonna give this a good toss make sure everything gets nice and seasoned and let’s move on to our airfryer okay i have my airfryer basket just gonna toss these all on here i cannot wait you guys i had these the other day and i forgot how good they were you don’t even have to make just chili cheese fries with these you can definitely have these with some burgers or anything that you like of course all right we’re going to spread them out nice and even we’re going to go ahead and close our airfryer oven i’m going to air fry these my airfryer goes to on fries it’s 375 but these take about 15 to 20 minutes depending on how crispy you like them while our jicama is in the airfryer we’re gonna move on to making the chili topping the best part okay so we’re gonna drop in some olive oil into my pan i got it heating through i put half a tablespoon and then we’re gonna add in our small onion that we diced earlier and get these nice and tender so just give it a couple minutes we’re gonna get them nice and translucent before we add in our meat my onions got nice and translucent now we’re gonna go ahead and add in our ground beef i’m using a pound of lean ground beef you can use what you like and i’m gonna go ahead and break it apart first i’m gonna cook my ground beef through and then i like to season just so it holds it better so we’re just gonna cook all this through until there’s no more pink and break it apart these things are amazing to break the meat apart okay i got my ground beef nice and cooked through i broke it apart well if you have any grease that you need to drain go ahead and do so now we’re going to start seasoning so this is the seasonings that i like to use on my chili i’m going to go in with some ground camino i add in about a teaspoon of each seasoning my husband’s favorite seasoning you don’t like the way it smells okay we’re gonna go in with some chili powder to give it that chili taste of course this one the chili powder i go in with a tablespoon then you can use regular paprika but i like to go in with some smoked paprika just to add a little smoky flavor and a little bit of color of course some salt to taste i’m gonna lower my heat just a bit i can never open this i got some black pepper and then we’re gonna go in with a little bit of garlic powder and these are all my seasonings i’m gonna go ahead and go in with and give it a good mix it smells good it smells like some good chili in here already you haven’t even added the tomatoes yet now we’re going in with tomatoes so i got some diced tomatoes right here just diced in a can we’re going to go in with one cup of these this is half a cup i’m going to go ahead and measure two i did drain some of the juice just want a little juice in here one cup of diced tomatoes and then you’re going to go in with half a cup of some crushed tomatoes okay these are all the ingredients that we’re gonna put in our chili you’re gonna let this simmer here for about 10 minutes just so all the flavors can come together and then you can taste it at the end see if it needs more salt or any other seasoning that you want to add our chili is ready it smells amazing it tastes even better now let’s go ahead and check on those fries our jicama fries are ready they got nice and crispy just like this we’re gonna go ahead and start assembling our chili cheese fries all right we’re gonna add our fries to our bowl our fry replacement look at them they’re nice and soft still they have the crispy texture to them they taste amazing y’all are gonna love these if you haven’t tried them we’re gonna add all our fries on here here we go linky linky’s always here whenever i’m cooking linky is always right here all right we gotta put our chili on top and take a generous amount of chili and add it right on top of here look at that oh my god yeah i was so ready for these even yesterday dreaming about these chili fries all right we got our chili we got our fry replacement we’re gonna add the rest of our toppings add anything that you would like that’s keto approved i am going in with some three cheese cheddar cheese on top and we adding all the extra cheese oh yes again nice and melty then i like to go in with a little bit of just some sour cream going with the tablespoon of sour cream we can’t forget the sliced nacho jalapenos of course y’all know i love me some spicy food so i am dressing this right up jalapenos and then to top it off we’re gonna go in with a sliced green onion and here is our keto low-carb chili cheese fries wait all right it is time to dig into these keto chili cheese fries that i have been waiting for since yesterday we’re gonna get everything on here we got our sour cream cheese chili our jicama fries and some jalapenos let’s take a bite oh my god you guys jacob is nice and tender definitely boil them ahead of time best fry replacement chili is so good full of flavor you are going to want to make this all the time
