    We Need Your Help!

We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.

By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.

Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

Kill it with fire!  High heat cook for a couple hours, then wire wheel on a drill.

    Vacuum out and reseason.

First step is heating it as hot as it can for as long as you can. After that.. I’d pull the auger/pot assembly out and clean it as good as possible and make sure the mold didn’t spread into the auger. Vinegar and some steel wool would work great for this. Then inside the grill use a metal scraper as best as you can to scrape away anything. Then take vinegar and steel wool and scrub down the entire thing.. including the grates. Spray with vinegar and wipe away with a towel until it’s all cleaned up.

After all this reassemble the grill and fire it up like it’s the first time. Do a good prime of pellets and then let it burn at 350-400 for at least an hour.

And because it’s mold.. keep your eye out for anything for the next few weeks. Next winter make sure you fire up your grill once a week even if just for an hour or so and you’ll keep her running well without the mold.

Fire !!! Been using that method for over 50 years with no adverse effects well, maybe. My wife may beg to differ.
