Ingredients required to make Chicken Shawarma:

FOR THE MARINADE:

8 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp olive oil

FOR THE SHAWARMA:

250g boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
1 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 tomato, sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 whole-wheat wraps
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

FOR THE YOGURT SAUCE:

1/2 cup Greek yogurt
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

How to make Chicken Shawarma:

1) Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and add in the thinly sliced chicken. Mix well to make sure all the chicken is coated well. Set it aside for at least half an hour.
2) While the chicken is marinating, prepare the yogurt sauce. Mix all the ingredients for the yogurt sauce and place in the fridge for later use.
3) Heat up a large frying pan and add in a tsp of olive oil. Add the chicken with the marinade and cook until the chicken is cooked through. This should only take about 3-4 minutes because we are using thinly sliced chicken.
4) Remove the chicken from the pan and strain the marinade into a bowl.
5)To make shawarma, take pita bread and spread some of the yogurt sauce on it. Add lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, and onions. Then top with some of the cooked marinade sauce and finally some mint leaves.

[Music] hello and Marhaba welcome to World on my plate with me Chef hsh today we are going to journey to Lebanon and we are going to make a dish that has recently become super popular around the entire world and that is a traditional chicken shawarma wrap but the difference is we’re going to cook it in a not so traditional way now the first thing that we want to do is get our marinade ready for our chicken for the marinade we’re going to take 2 tbsp of garlic 1 tbsp of coriander powder half a teaspoon of cardamom powder 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 tbsp of cumin powder and finally 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika now to this we’re going to add the juice of one lemon and finally we’re going to add 3 tbsp of olive oil [Music] now we’re going to give this a good mix and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our marinade is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated evenly [Music] okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we are going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sharma so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and [Music] pepper now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our shawarma [Music] so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it [Music] break our sha is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Easter Cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of Cuisine because it’s not too far of a step away from what everyone is comfortable with and I think the best way to serve this is going to be to have a big platter with all of the different elements so Channel as [Music] well hello and Marhaba welcome to World on my plate with me Chef hsh today we are going to journey to Lebanon and we are going to make a dish that has recently become super popular around the entire world and that is a traditional chicken shawarma wrap but the difference is we’re going to cook it in a not so traditional way now the first thing that we want to do is get our marinade ready for our chicken for the marinade we’re going to take 2 tbspoon of garlic 1 tbsp of coriander powder half teaspoon of cardamom powder 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 tbsp of cumin powder and finally 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika now to this we’re going to add the juice of one lemon and finally we’re going to add 3 tspoons of olive [Music] oil now we’re going to give this a good mix and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our Marin is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated [Music] evenly okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we’re going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make make our yogurt sauce for the Sha so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and [Music] pepper now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and pepper [Music] okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Shawarma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it break [Music] our Sharma is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Eastern cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our shawarma [Music] so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread now smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some Finly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it [Music] break our sha is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Eastern cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of Cuisine because it’s not too far of a step away from what everyone is comfortable with and I think the best way to serve this is going to be to have a big platter with all of the marinade ready for our chicken for the marinade we’re going to take 2 tbsp of garlic 1 tbsp of coriander powder half a teaspoon of cardamom powder 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 tbsp of cumin powder and finally 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika now to this we’re going to add the juice of one lemon and finally we’re going to add 3 tbsp of olive [Music] oil now we’re going to give this a good mix and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our marinade is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated [Music] evenly okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we are going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sha so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and [Music] pepper now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Shawarma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread let smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it [Music] break our sha is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Eastern cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of Cuisine because it’s not too far of a step away from what everyone is comfortable with and I think the best way to serve this is going to be to have a big platter with all of the different elements so every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it break [Music] our sha is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our marinade is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated [Music] evenly okay okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we are going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sharma so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and pepper [Music] now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk [Music] back so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our Chien chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Shawarma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread let smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced [Music] onions now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make make sure we don’t let it [Music] break our sha is [Music] ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Eastern cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of Cuisine because it’s not too far of a step away from what everyone is comfortable with and I think the best way to serve this is going to be to have a we are going to make a dish that has recently become super popular around the entire world and that is a traditional chicken shawarma wrap but the difference is we’re going to cook it in a not so traditional way now the first thing that we want to do is get our marinade ready for our chicken for the marinade we’re going to take 2 tbsp of garlic 1 tbsp of coriander powder half a teaspoon of cardamom powder 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 tbsp of cumin powder and finally 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika now to this we’re going to add the juice of one lemon and finally we’re going to add 3 tbsp of olive oil now we’re going to give this a good mix and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our marinade is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated evenly [Music] okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we are going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sha so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbspoon of garlic next we’re going to add 1 tpoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and pepper [Music] now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Shawarma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sha so what we have here is half a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 taspo of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and [Music] pepper now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back [Music] so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot now and we’re just going to go in with with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and [Music] pepper Okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Sharma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our pita bread let smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced onions [Music] now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic sauce and there you have it guys now all we have to do is carefully roll this up make sure we don’t let it [Music] break our Sharma is ready so here you have it guys Lebanon on my plate now Middle Eastern cuisine is quite relatable and recognizable to the Indian palette because a lot of the spices that are used in Middle Eastern cuisine are quite similar to what we use in Northern Indian food so maybe the next time you’re hosting a party this might be a good choice of Cuisine because it’s not too far of a step away from what everyone is comfortable with and I think the best way to serve this is Lebanon and we are going to make a dish that has recently become super popular around the entire world and that is a traditional chicken shawarma wrap but the difference is we’re going to cook it in a not so traditional way now the first thing that we want to do is get our marinade ready for our chicken for the marinade we’re going to take 2 tbspoon of garlic 1 tspoon of coriander powder half a teaspoon of cardamom powder 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 tbsp of cumin powder and finally 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika now to this we’re going to add the juice of one lemon and finally we’re going to add 3 tbsp of olive [Music] oil now we’re going to give this a good mix and then we’re going to add our chicken okay our marinade is completely mixed and it smells so good and now we just have to add our [Music] chicken so now we’re just going to go ahead and mix this up with our hands very very nicely make sure all the chicken is coated [Music] evenly okay so our chicken is fully marinated now and we are going to let that sit on the side for about 15 to 20 minutes while we make our yogurt sauce for the Sha so what we have here is a cup of Greek yogurt and to that we’re going to add 1 tbsp of garlic next we’re going to add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder we’re going to add the juice of half a lemon and finally we’re going to add some salt and [Music] pepper now all that’s left to do is give this a good mix so we’re going to bring our little friend the whisk back [Music] so our garlic sauce is ready and we’re going to pop this into the fridge for now and then we’re going to start cooking our Shawarma and we’re almost done so our pan is getting nice and hot all we have to do is add a little bit of olive oil we’re going to give that a nice swirl just to make sure it’s hot so as you can see the oil is super hot hot now and we’re just going to go in with our chicken now usually chicken breast takes anywhere between 8 to 10 minutes to cook but because we are using thinly sliced chicken this should be fully cooked in just about 3 to 4 minutes okay our chicken is almost cooked through now all we’re going to do is season this with a little bit of salt and pepper [Music] okay so our chicken is fully cooked it smells amazing and it tastes even better so we’re going to set that aside for now and we’re going to start building our Shawarma so the first thing we need to do is put some of our garlic yogurt sauce all over our P bread smear it all over because we want to get a little bit of that garlic sauce in every single bite next we’re going to add some lettuce now you want to place this sort of in a line along the middle next we’re going to add our chicken now we’re going to add tomatoes and onions so I’ve just cut the tomatoes into long strips like this because that makes it fit much better in our roll and finally we’ve got some thinly sliced onions [Music] now as a Finishing Touch I’m going to add a little bit of fresh mint and just a few dollops of our garlic
