I thought I’d share my first meal of the day and talk about my progress. I started at 179, and Im currently 172, & that makes me ecstatic. My goal weight is 150, and even though I may not be seeing my body change, NUMBERS DONT LIE!!! Tracking used to feel like torture, I used to restrict myself and starve myself & wouldnt lose any weight vs now I eat at 1600 most days and I’ll have a day like saturday where I went to the movies and I ate a shit ton of food(and still managed to lose weight!!) 7 pounds is a lot to me, considering I wasn’t able to lose any weight for awhile, and it only makes me more determined to keep going. My tracking journey isn’t perfect and that’s what makes it amazing; there truly are days where I track everything down to a T but there are also days where I get invited out to my favorite restaurant and eat there( this happens once in a blue moon but you get the gist). I’m not seeing have a cheat day every single week, what I’m saying is that day where you had those oreos or ice cream isn’t going to derail you if you get back on track in a way that doesn’t feel like punishment. Tracking should add to your life, not take away. For instance, I have been craving crumbl for a long time but we all know how high they are in calories, so I’m planning on baking a version of crumbl cookies that will be roughly 180 calories each! This is pretty long but I genuinely just wanted to share my breakfast & my progress to keep me going and help anyone who feels shitty after a cheat day, you’ll be okay. Also this mac and cheese is phenomenal, and it’s 480 for the whole thing!

P.S, what helped me the most stay on track was finding joy outside of food. You can enjoy food, but if it’s your only source of happiness, it’s gonna be hard to be consistent.

Also the side of the Mac and cheese are a bit burnt but I promise it’s still good, I just like my food really hot!

I love the burnt edges around Mac and cheese 😋

Congrats on the progress!! I’m the same as you, always tried to lose weight before while restricting too hard but it never actually came off. This time around I was still eating what I wanted, no foods were off limits, I just practiced portion control and made it fit in my budget. Like today I have a Crunchwrap supreme, Doritos taco, soft taco, and a chocolate chip cookie for dinner and only went 16 calories over my calorie goal (which is still meeting the goal tbh). It’s just about tracking and making it fit. And making the diet not suck!
