nothing worth having comes quickly or easily this couldn’t be a truer statement than when it comes to gardening 7 years ago I started my first garden and I knew nothing when it came to Growing food all I knew is I was 25 and I really wanted a reason to be outdoors little did I know how much work goes into a garden and I soon realized how much time and effort it took to grow one tomato I had zero systems in place and the garden became overwhelming even though I only had one garden bed I quit by August I was over it but something that first year ignited a spark I learned how amazing food can taste but I knew I had a lot to learn so here comes the following year I planted my garden and new problems appeared I also added a second garden bed so I easily became overwhelmed yet again but that spark grew into a flame and the more success I found in the garden the more I grew as a gardener gardening is a little bit easier now than it was then even though now it’s the size of my entire backyard there’s been so much defeat over the years but also so much success so if you’re in your first few years of gardening just know

  1. Inspiring story 👏
How were you able to improve your garden? What kind of resources did you use? Did you watch online, books or gardening classes? Thank you!

  2. I do hear you…its my 3rd year of gardening and I do everything in containers and I have only a little space…but still I do grow my veggies and yes, I still have to learn a lot 😃😃

  3. Im going on year 5 and feel like we're JUST barely getting to a point where we're really learning how to navigate our little evosystem. But its definitely very rewarding and i wouldnt trade the journey for the world because its taught me a lot about patience, letting things go and the progress that steady work can bring

  4. Going on five years learning gardening from scratch and starting over with a new space this year after moving. New house, new yard, new growing zone – so much to learn and build but I’m excited 😁

  5. its so true. a lot of people think its as easy is just sticking seeds or plants into the ground and watering. its a full time job if you want any success

  6. Question for you and the community here….. We purchased a new construction home 2 years ago. We moved to a new State from 5 acres to a home in town. I've been adding more and more beds so my question is will it be hard to sell the home with no real backyard? I want my yard like yours Bre.

  7. Yes ma'am! I'm an old granny now and every Spring I get just as excited to see everything grow as I did 30 some odd years ago! Isn't it wonder when you pick that first tomato, knowing there's enough seeds to plant and share? ❤❤❤

  8. Im on year one and only have 3 varieties growing, everything else died 😂 we'll try again next year

  9. Girl!! It wasn't long ago I was celebrating 100k subscribers with you. Here you are nearing 300k! I'm so happy for you, you deserve it ❤

  10. Yes yes yesssss😭 I killed so many things the first year. I wanted to give up! It’s so worth it.. learn more mess up more

  11. This feels so relevant. I'm 3 years into a fairly small garden, but now pregnant again with a 1.5 yo and it feels hard to keep on top of, on top of being a sahm and everything else in life. I try to be easy on myself that every year things get a little easier and it becomes more routine, and life with kids especially is a lot in itself.

  12. So true, but then every journey begins with step one and if you keep going you will be able look back and see so much progress and possibly shock yourself!

  13. Yes its hard and its not cheap but when you serve a plate with everything but the meat you grew its a awesome feeling love hate relationship with my garden i start everything from seed so i know everything that went into it and how hard it was to grow it the pest fight and weed fight aint no joke but i would tell everyone to grow something
